	Because there was also no Water Blue to follow Fire Red and Leaf Green. It seems that remakes don't get remade third versions.

	Oh and peter you said that it's tradition to make the third game. Well it's also a tradition to make each gen for diffrend console. R/B/Y for gb G/S/C for gbc FireRed/Leafgrean and R/S/E for gba. D/P/Pt and hg/ss for ds. so as we see the next gen should be for 3DS but since when they started evloping B/W the 3DS wasn't even anounced so i think they will try to keep this gen as short as possible so they can start 3DS era. So i think they will have to choose.Ruby and Sapphire remakes or grey

Then the possible remakes, if there will be, Ruby and Sapphire can start the 3DS era. Plus, each three games plus remakes of other games completes the console era. Black/White/Grey and Ruby/Sapphire remakes on the DS. Leave the 3DS till Gen 6. Plus, if Grey isn't made, there's always B/W ROMS to hack when they come out. Personally, this is what would happen in Grey, feature wise: Battle Frontier Reshiram and Zekrom in the same game, without having to fill your PC box to get them in the original Black and White, plus their shiny forms are catchable. A change in the storyline Be on the original DS Black and White exclusives in the same game (For example, Gothitelle (Black Exclusive) and Braivary (White Exclusive) in the same game.)

I just said, you need the duo of games, plus the third game, then the remakes of older games to complete the DS era. The only reason I do not want it to be on the 3DS is because you cannot play 3DS games on a regular DS. That's the only thing.
