The Effort Ribbon doesn't exist in B/W ... go to Opelucid City, there's a lady in one of the houses who will tell you "your Pokémon has put in great effort" when it's received its 510 EVs. She says it can "try harder" if it's anything below 510. The only way to really know if you've properly EV trained is to take it to her when it's received 508 EVs - if she says it can try harder, go get the last remaining 2 EV points and take him back - if her response changes, you should have EV Trained correctly (at least numerically).
