besides not being able to catch pikachu in yellow, shinies didn't exist until generation 2
BUT yellow is kinda full of glitches, i encountered a wild nidoqueen and a while later wild charizard and that's not supposed to happen (at least i think so..)

on firered i had 4 shinies in one day
and one was a paras in safari zone so i had the risk of him running away

i know about the shiny thing but i figured there were glitches in yellow because i thought you couldn't even catch pikachu in viridian forest. i just naturally thought it shouldn't be there early in the game.

The only shiny I got was a Luvdisk, and it was urine yellow... I got it in Pearl while trying to get Heart Scales for my Weavile and its now in my White.

I have a shiny Audino. I got it by finding a shaking grass patch. I walked up to it and SHINY Audino was there! It is on My Pokemon Black game. I also found a shiny Audino in Pokemon White. I tried to catch it but I KOed it.

I've run into three shinies in my life. First one was when I was fishing in Sapphire for a Feebas. Carvanah after Carvanah... And then a female one that was GREEN came up on my line! Needless I threw a master ball and caught it. Named her Lucky Girl. <3 She's a level 100 purple Sharpedo now.
The next one was when I was trollin along in SoulSilver for a Houndoom. And out pops a yellow VULPIX! Ninetales is one of my favorites so I paralyzed it and whittled it down to red... And it used roar. Needless to say, I was devastated.
The third one was in Black 2, when I was looking for Emolga in shaking grass. Audino, Audino, Audino... Holy crap is that a PURPLE Audino with GREEN eyes?! I lowered it down to yellow and nailed him. I named him Bunny <3
Still hoping to find another yellow Vulpix, will probably use the Masuda Method.
