Are you confused on what starter to pick? - Page 3

Snivy is amazing. Well, not Snivy, but Serperior. Everybody says it has horrible stats and a pathetic movepool, but it still kicks major BUTT. I love Snivy. :3

I am getting Pokemon Black tomorrow, but I really can't decide, I know I don't want Snivy, I just don't like it for some reason, but it's between Tepig and Oshawott, I like Tepig, but it's evolved forms not so much, whereas I don't really like Oshawott or Samurott but like Dewott.. so I canny decide.. little help please? xD

I chose Oshawatt. I didn't like looks of the Snivy and Tepig.

Filling the list with four grass moves is not a good moveset by any measure. Anything that resists grass basically walls you.

I picked Tepig. Best choice imo.
1) I love Emboar's looks.
2) I love Emboar's typing.

Serperior can be easily replaced by Leavanny, Ferrothorn, or even Whimsicott or Lilligant.
Samurott can be easily replaced by Simipour, Seismitoad, Jellicent, even Swanna... <3

My Serperior is hands down the best starter Pokemon I've ever raised. With Leech Seed, Rerutn, Coil, and Leaf Blade, he basically destroyed the E4. And no, I didn't have him way overleveled. He was only level 49, like all my other Pokemon. You start off with Leech Seed, Coil a few times while taking minimal damage because of his great natural defense, healing, and Coil boost and then OHKO all comers with STAB Leafblade or Return if needed.

I might have to use one of those.

I always go with grass - Snivy for me..

However, my bro tells me this game is a bit of a lazy guy's game, and instead of going to the lab and such like previous games, you just get a Pokémon handed to you right away. So this time round, I'm gonna sort of cheat, and make it longer, by getting one starter, say, tepig, trading to Diamond, restarting B/W, and getting Oshawott, trading to Diamond, restarting... So on so on, then on Diamond, breed each starter with Ditto, hatch the eggs, then trade the original, level 5's, back to a file that I picked Snivy on.

Confusing?

You CAN trade with Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/Heartgold/Soulsilver in B/W, right?

Nope. There is the transfer lab, but that's after E4 only and it's a one way trade from the Sinnoh/Johto games to these Unova games.

Ahh, okay then.

Heh, luckily, all good plans come with a backup - me getting one version and my sister getting the other (B/W). I'll just make a deal with her, though this makes it more complicated and time-consuming. Thanks for that info though!
