I can't even say the name region name.

I got so nerdy and remembered the japanese names and now they don't sound weird

New starter names come out and i think they sound weird

What I'm saying is that I'm almost 100% sure that after you say the names about 100 times they will start sounding like old classic names like bulbasaur

As for me... well i like tsutaja pokabu and mijumaru alot better

i just think that seeing mijumaru in the anime saying miju! miju miju maru! was adorable and i can't picture it saying

People like Japanese names I guess. Plus we've had aaages and ages to get used to the Japanese names so it's understandable for some folks to grow attached to them

Just out of curiosity how can Kanto possibly be pronounced differently? Unova does look confusing (I personally think its a bit like "Another"...Pokebeach's weird theories about it being about America sounds way too ridiculous and forced).

Sometimes I rely on the Anime for proper pronounciations which used to happen all the time when I was younger Eg. I used to think Suicune was pronounced sue-is-soon (as in suicide). Yeah, I know it's stupid :/

I'm pretty sure Unova is "Union" (due to it's location in the United States) and "Nova" (meaning new) put together. Plus the word union adds to my "Yoo-noh-vuh" theory.

I've been saying for a while now the German names are generally better, even for Gen I stuff. That's why I completed the HG Pokedex in German and got the Diamant version. Looks like this generation won't be any different.

I say Kanto "Can-toe". And to me Unova is "Yoo-noh-vuh".

On an unrelated note: I just realized that Caitlin of the Elite Four this Gen. is the same Caitlin that was in the DPPtHGSS Battle Castle in the Battle Frontier! She just has different hair (and Pokemon)!

I'm a little dissapointed on the starter names, but seriously renaming the region? It's like Nintendo is doing this just to annoy us. I'm pretty sure somewhere GF is pointing and laughing at us saying "Unova nothing anymore.... get it? Cuz it's a play on words? Unova..." And were all sitting here nodding are heads in dissapointment.

I still feel tempted to call it Isshu though.
