Phantasy Star: 3D Ages Info

Following the recent release of the Phantasy Star Collection for the GameBoy Advance, Sega and publisher D3 have announced the re-release of Phantasy Star I, II, and IV on the PlayStation 2. All three titles will be given updated graphics and be released together in a series called 3D Ages, which features other classic Sega titles.

While there has been no word of an official release date, the price for all three Phantasy Star titles for the PS2 has been made clear: 2500 yen (approximately $20 in U.S.D.).

It got a 26/40 (two 7 scores and two 6 scores) from Famitsu magazine... Which isn't too bad.

I don't know if you'll read this, but this game is a remake so I has bad graphics on purpose.

The orginal was made on the Sega Genesis, and was one of the first RPG's Sega had.

re: Phantasy Star: 3D Ages Info

The original Phantasy Star was made for the Sega Master System, not the Genesis. Also, for the type of game it is, the graphics for the remake are better than average. This is not the type of game that needs great, textured 3-D rendering. Nope, just old school. I for one, am anxiously awaiting Conspiracy Games US release of the first remake. Word is that they're also signed on for parts 2 and 4. I can only hope that the younger generation of gamers won't look at these remakes and ignorantly cast them aside because they don't use the trendiest graphics engine or whatever is "cool" today. Phantasy Star was and still is a great game. Any fan of "real" RPG's (not like the online stuff that is popular today) will love this game. And just so you know, any of you out there that are into PSO, don't expect anything close to a resemblance. Just as I was greatly disappointed when I played PSO, so would a fan of PSO be disappointed playing the remake of the original Phantasy Star.

re: Phantasy Star: 3D Ages Info

Man... I've fallen in love with PS ever since I got my hands on the 4th part. I'm sooo happy that SEGA made those remakes, because it'll show the younger audiance what console RPGs were like in the time that the plot was more important than graphics... now you see crap like MU Online that has absolutely no meaning and it's just hack and slash or "Get this iten, cuz it'z k00l" and stuff... I wanted to see a continue to the story of PS4 Too bad SEGA never made that I am hyped up about Phantasy Star Univers though Hope it'll bring back the nice touch in the PS series
