While we're all going back to Castle Crashers in anticipation of The Behemoth's next big release, they've slipped in a new "official" release window for us. BattleBlock Theater will be coming out this spring! That's within the next few months! In the mean time, the game's beta will be launching on Friday and it will be awesome. All eight of the game's multiplayer/co-op modes will be open to play.
Here's the poem that The Behemoth wrote to announce the release window, as spoken in the voice of one of its BattleBlock Theater prisoners:
The guard did growleth as he pushed us out,
Catnip stanking up each breath.
“Your turn has come at last,” he mewed,
His eyes aglow with death.
In leaps and bounds, the course was run;
We gave it every ounce of heart.
So silently, the audience sat enrapt,
That thou couldst hear a kitten fart.
But when we came to that final jump
Promising freedom from my cell,
My companion, she did puncheth me,
And laughed loudly as I fell.
Falling, falling… I wonder now,
Won’t our imprisonment ever cease?!
Mayhaps someone will Spring my friends…
Mayhaps they near Release!
As expected, a 100% Behemoth style announcement. It's unfortunate that the upcoming beta will likely be under NDA, but with upcoming events like PAX East in the end of March, new information is certain to be released soon.
Speaking of PAX East, The Behemoth just announced they have plush fat roosters available for purchase at the event. You know, the fat rooster The Behemoth uses as a mascot? Only the most adorable thing you've ever seen, and the perfect thing to be turned into a plush? Anyone going to PAX East needs to help a Neo-brother out.
BattleBlock Theater coming this spring, look forward to it.
