I have a suggestion. Is it possible to implement a "Reputation" system in the trading forum? If an automatic one is not possible, maybe manual? XD

If the idea seems too serious, we could dilute it by making it into some sort of a yearly competition to see who can chalk up the most reputation in here.

Of course, to prevent abuse of creating new members and voting for +1 reputation of someone, we can impose restriction on such members. Like only those with 20 posts can add someone's reputation. And a single person can get a +1 from another only once. You can't have one person voting +1 for you a million times.

And as for lowering the reputation points, the moderators will use the discretion to lower them according to the severity of the case. This will eliminate bias. And requests of such is done through PM to the forum mods.

As for the limit, maybe a maximum of +100 reputation and a minimum of 0. This is to prevent anyone with a runaway reputation or a negative one, and to allow reps to grow.

And this can be made available only to those traders who are interested in this system?

I suggested this more of a way to make things cleaner here, and for people to help each other accustomed to the way the forum works, and to abide by the rules, and eliminating the possibility of bias and abuse of the system.

Or maybe change the name from Reputation to something less... impressionable?

If people not taking part in it think they are being adversely affected, they can join in late. If they think they are not affected, then things are fine with them.

As for +1 after every trade, it's not compulsory for the +1 after every trade. Note that each person can only give +1 to a person once, so even after 10 trades, you will only get one +1 from that one person.

If you are talking about knowing who is a good trader and who is not, this cannot be seen at first glance. You will need to be familiar with the forum first before establishing that. This idea is meant to help newcomers integrate into the forum, especially since it is always seen new posters with only <10 posts are often ignored in the forum.

And yes, altering of the reputation downwards is totally up to the Moderators depending on the severity of the offence.

As for new traders registering just to give a +1, I don't think it is necessary as they would have to post the +1 rep itself in the second thread for checking purposes.

Most likely not, since we are intending this to be manual to prevent an abuse of the system. It can be a userbar to be used in the signature. Just my suggestion.
