I like the tackling Alzheimer's patient in that one episode. "Watch out for Ted, the tackling Alzheimer's patient." "What?" *Guy flies out of a room and tackles J.D. Also, the janitor is one of my favorite characters. I love how he makes J.D. feel guilty all the time.

New season begins soon, can't wait to see the wedding. I really hope they bring Tom Cavanagh back as J.D.'s brother, John Ritter as his dad, and Dick Van Dyke as Dr. Townshend. Those have been my favorite guest stars so far.

I purchased the first season today, it's worth the cash. All 24 episodes, with commentary, interviews, and all that jazz for 35 bucks, it was a freaking steal. I like reliving the first few episodes of the series, it was so fresh back then (not that it wasn't this season, I've always enjoyed its originality) but the relationships between the characters were new and Dr. Cox had some of the best lines of the whole series in the first few episodes. I especially like the awkward praise he gives J.D. at the end of the pilot when he finally treats his first patient, absolutely priceless.

I'm not entirely sure what to believe, but I've heard rumors that Scrubs has not been renewed for this season. It's a shame, really, I was just getting back into the show after a long hiatus. Can anyone confirm the fate of Scrubs in the United States? I hope the rumors aren't true, Scrubs is one of the funniest shows on all of TV, and certainly one of the best if not the best network comedy around right now.

does anyone know about the new season 2 DVD that suppose to be comming out? i've looked around but all i've really found is hearsay and rumors. The first season was just released over the summer, I'll bet it's released around Christmastime. Personally, I think the second season has been my favorite so far. There are some great episodes, "My Big Mouth", "My Big Brother", and "My Philosophy", just to name a few.

Dr. Cox is better than the two of them put together. quoteOkay, think of what little patience I have as, oh, I don't know, your virginity. You always thought it would be there, until that night junior year when you were feeling a little down about yourself and your pal Kevin, who just wanted to be friends, well, he dropped by and he brought a copy of About Last Night and a four-pack of Bartels & James and woo hoo hoo, it was gone forever - just like my patience is now.

quoteDoes the janitor have a name in the show? I've never heard him addressed as anything other than Janitor. Nope. In fact, if you have the DVD, you'll know that the Janitor was written into the first episode only, but the writers liked him so much they've kept him on. A few other interesting "janitor" anecdotes: -the show creator, Bill Lawrence, wanted the janitor to be a figment of J.D.'s imagination and disappear at the end of the first episode, as he didn't interact with any other characters -Neil Flynn, who plays the janitor, actually auditioned for the role of Dr. Cox initially, but was cast as the janitor after John C. McGinley accepted that role And a resume for Flynn, he appeared in Major League, Rookie of the Year, the Fugitive, Magnolia, the Muppet Christmas Movie, and is credited in Anchorman (though I don't remember seeing him), oddly enough, most of his roles are as policemen. On TV, he loaned his voice to Clone High (my favorite show ) as well as appearances on Seinfeld, That 70s Show, Drew Carey, CSI, and NYPD Blue, among others. He also played poker on Celebrity Poker Showdown. Yeah, I enjoy his work.

cool facts about the janitor...he's awesome.
dr. cox is just so fast with his comebacks. seriously, why can't i think that good on my feet? he's the king of putdowns. I had a friend compare me to Dr. Cox a couple of weeks back during one of my incredible rants. I'd try to explain to you, but basically it involved the Mormon religion, feminism, and other things I absolutely hate. In any event, that's when I decided to grab my present avatar, I'm going to leave it up till they bring Scrubs back. Dr. Cox makes me smile. I plan on getting Season 2 the day it comes out. I purchased Season 1 halfway through the summer, watched it all in less than a week, and have been eagerly anticipating the next season since. I stopped watching the series religiously after the first season, due to the busy nature of my evening schedule, but I'm looking forward to becoming re-acquanted with the series as the DVDs are released. By the way, I've already mentioned this in the Emmy thread, but who else thinks Scrubs got robbed at the awards this year? I mean, nothing. Zach Braff was a wonderful candidate for Best Comedic Performance, and in any other year I think it would have won Best Comedy Series (see ya later, Raymond!).

The song sung at the beginning of the First episode of the 2nd season:
"I can't get to sleep, I think about the implications, Of diving in too deep, and possibly the complications. Especially at night, I worry over situations, that I know will be alright, it's just overkill. Day after day it reappears, night after night my heartbeat shows the fear. Ghosts appear and fade away. Come back another day!"
That's "Overkill" by Colin Hay. *bleep*ing beautiful song, he's also featured prominently on another of Braff's projects, the movie Garden State. I got Season 2 for Christmas and just thought I should go ahead and bump this thread because Season 5 starts airing TOMORROW at 9 PM Eastern on NBC!!!! Sounds like a good one too: quoteAs new attending at Sacret Heart, J.D. now has to deal with his own interns. Turk tries to prevent Carla from becoming pregnant without her knowledge. Elliot struggles to find her way at County Hospital where the Fellowship Director makes her life a little unpleasant. Be sure and watch it! If Scrubs gets cancelled, I'm going to lose faith in humanity. I'm that close.

Glad to see another new fan, Echo. Scrubs flies too far under the radar, hopefully a ton of new viewers caught the premiere and subsequent new episode that surprised me-I didn't see it on the calendar until last night. I loved Dr. Cox's "Man" cards, and Ted's theft of an old man's respirator. The Janitor's cutout of JD was also ingenious. Michael Tolcher's music, an up and coming artist, was featured in the second episode at the end, be sure to check him out, he's gonna be a star. I saw him with OAR a couple of months ago at a show.
Elliot's boyfriend last year, Jake (played by Josh Randall) got her an interview for a fellowship at the County Hospital, to which she was accepted. Of course, if you watched last night, she lost that job.

I would like to see Scrubs get a lead-in from, say, My Name is Earl or The Office on Thursdays. Even though Scrubs is clearly the superior show in that group, for some reason people enjoy Jason Lee's mindless misadventures and Steve Carell's deadpan delivery. Wait a minute, I love Steve Carell. Get rid of Earl and put Scrubs and The Office together, then you've got the real blockbuster hour of comedy that could put NBC Thursdays back on top after the loss of Friends.

Annoying? He's one of my favorite characters, after Dr. Cox of course. The episode where J.D. calls him stupid and he begins to act like he can't perform the most mindless of tasks is sheer brilliance. quoteFork! Me can't eat soup! The most annoying character, as much as I hate to say it, is Elliot. I know that's the point of her character, but her squeaky voice and incredible lack of self-respect is just nerve-rattling.

I don't believe plans have been announced regarding the airing of season 5 in the UK, unfortunately, but I'm sure we'll know something in the next few weeks. Season 3 is set for release on February 22, 2006, to be precise. I agree that the Todd and Laverne get left out in the cold. When they have their moments, though, no one is funnier on that show than those two. Examples: quote[J.D. is trying to brake up with Danni over the phone while Carla enters] Carla: [to Nurse Roberts] How's he doing? Nurse Roberts: The boy's got no biscuits. quoteTodd: [Todd is playing Pacman] Oh, Miss Pacman, I would sex that bow right off your head. Eat those dots you naughty, naughty girl.

That was NOT *bleep*ING COOL the way they ended that episode. I thought Scrubs was above silly cliffhanger endings after the first season finale, but sonofabitch, they have to end it with Cox storming out tonight.
That said, that was easily the most intense episode of Scrubs EVER. I loved it, up until the very end. Instant classic.

Oh ye of little faith. I knew Cox would be back, and I knew J.D. would be the one to bring him back to the fold. On a less emotionally deep level, I thought the Janitor's "knifewrench" was hysterical. "Knifewrench...for kids!" Classic.
In other Scrubs news, don't forget North American Scrubs fans that Season 3 comes out on DVD next Tuesday, May 9th. I've been eagerly anticipating the third season since it was SUPPOSED to be released back in February, but we're splitting hairs. Be sure to rush out and get the three-disc set next week, as well tuning in for the last batch of episodes this season to keep Scrubs from falling off the primetime map. If that happens, I'll Knifewrench every one of you. That is all.

I liked the nod to Season 3 this week, though seeing the same jokes over again was a bit tedious towards the end. In case you didn't know, most of the jokes from this past week's episode came from "My Lucky Night" from Season 3, including Cox's two testicles prescription and JD's change riddle. How do I know this? I have Season 3 on DVD, finally, and have already watched everything possible on the first disc. So much for pacing. They need a Scrubs patch, like Nicorette, because I'm going to be going through some nasty withdrawal symptoms this summer.

NBC recently released their Fall 2006 schedule, and imagine how relieved I was to see Scrubs HAD been picked up for Season 6. Then imagine my sheer joy to see that it had been moved to Thursday at 9:30/8:30 Central, following the popular new NBC comedies My Name is Earl and The Office. I think we can put to rest the anxiety about NBC forming a Thursday night lineup to replace the loss of Seinfeld and Friends.
Woohoo! Scrubs back on Thursdays! YESSSSSSS!

I'm not anal about sexual things but I get a little tired of it. I'm definitely anal about sexual things, but that's a completely different story altogether... I thought this season finale was okay, I like the new love interest but seriously all I can think about every time she's onscreen is that scene from The 40 Year Old Virgin were she masturbates with the water nozzle. Good scene, good scene. However, I will always prefer the Season One finale over all the others. Remember that? The gang was finally getting along alright and then Jordan arrives and tells everyone the dark secrets they've all been hiding. Kind of a shitty cliffhanger, but I still think it was the best season finale in the series so far.

According to Play.com, the 4th Season set of Scrubs is set for a September 25, 2006 release in the UK. No date yet for the US version. Season 4 episodes include: quote1. My Old Friend's New Friend 2. My Office 3. My New Game 4. My First Kill 5. Her Story 6. My Cake 7. My Common Enemy 8. My Last Chance 9. My Malpractice Decision 10. My Female Trouble 11. My Unicorn 12. My Best Moment 13. My Orcardial Infarction 14. My Lucky Charm 15. My Hypocritical Oath 16. My Quarantine 17. My Life In Four Cameras 18. My Roommates 19. My Best Laid Plans 20. My Boss' Free Haircut 21. My Lips Are Sealed 22. My Big Move 23. My Faith In Humanity 24. My Drive-By 25. My Changing Ways
Of all the seasons, I missed the Season 4 episodes the most (I think I've only seen "My Life in Four Cameras" and "My Cake" all the way through, out of all the episodes) so naturally I'm looking forward to this one.

I've got class or practice every day at 6 here, so I can't normally watch it on Comedy Central. Luckily there's a local channel that carries them at 10 PM here, so I can watch the same episode for the 5th time. I'm this close to being able to recite the entirety of "My Old Lady" verbatim. The more I think about it though, the more I think it IS a good thing Scrubs is entering its final season this year. I mean, I can't stand shows that outlast their characters and just become bland excuses to recycle plots from other sitcoms through the lens of their characters. Seinfeld never did that, but with the exception of Scrubs and a few other unique comedies I think it happens far too often. Plus, the show just wouldn't be the same without Zach Braff, I don't care how much face time you gave to Dr. Cox. Yes, I'll be sad when the series finale plays, but by that time I'll have all five previous seasons on DVD and I'll be able to relive the entire series. Which I will do religiously for many years.

I'm hoping they'll have a little catch-up episode for Season 5 as well. I mean, I remember most of what happened, but it'll be almost 7 months of a break before the show premieres again. And, quite honestly, a lot of shit has happened. Of course, they could solve that problem by simply releasing the Season 5 DVDs before January. That would make me very, very happy.

Finally, FINALLY NBC has done something intelligent. They were so afraid to finagle a new comedy block after losing Seinfeld and Friends, and I think they've finally created a block of programming to fill that void. Hopefully this will mean higher ratings for Scrubs and, amidst the inferior "Earl" and equally impressive "The Office," will be able to garner the accolades from critics and the general public it deserves. HOPEFULLY. If not, I'm losing faith in mankind.

re: Scrubs

I agree. I thought Season 5 was probably the most serious one of the entire show, but that doesn't mean there weren't some really, REALLY funny moments throughout. JD faceplanting into the bar at his apartment after betting Elliot he could jump onto it from the coach after yelling "EAGLE!" comes to mind.
As for Dr. Cox, I'm glad his character has become more serious. It shows a growth in his character that I think is present in all of the major characters on the show, just more pronounced in his case because he was so emotionally hardened in the first few seasons. I think the evolution of Cox's character probably began with the death of Brendan Frasier's character in Season 3. This will inevitably lead, I think, to his assuming the role of Chief of Medicine in the final episode of the series because I anticipate Kelso either retiring or perhaps even (God forbid) dying.
In any event, I'm so excited for Thursday's episode I haven't been able to sleep. I wasn't anticipating a season premiere until well into January, and now, just two days away-shit. This stuff is like cocaine man, I don't know how I'm going to survive when it's over.

If you want to be caught up, you can peruse the fan wiki. There is extensive information on each of the season's episodes, and while it is admittedly impossible to get the full Scrubs experience in 24 hours, I suggest trying this out so you can watch the episode tomorrow. I'm really going to be unable to sleep tonight. I'm that excited.

I recommend going in order and purchasing Season One. Scrubs is a show that builds off the relationships between its characters, and if you buy a season in the middle you'll be very confused. I urge you to watch Season One first, get hooked like everyone else, and then go from there. I guarantee you'll buy Season Two the day you finish Season One.

I've pretty much know everything going on thanks to Comedy Central. Re-answer, plzkthx. If you're going to watch them on Comedy Central, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? Season 3 is my favorite, though. It's got the best episode, "My Screw Up," of the entire series. If you're going to buy one, I would suggest 3. But, if you wait another few months, I would buy Season 5 when it comes out. I liked it a little bit more than Season 3, if only because of the evolution of Dr. Cox's character.

re: Scrubs

A recent interview with IGN ( link!) seems to imply that the show might continue past this season even if Zach Braff does not return. How that would work I don't know, I mean, he's been essentially the only protagonist of the show during its entire run (with a few minor exceptions for the "His" and "Her Story" episodes that pop up every now and again). I think you'd have to base the show on Dr. Cox, but that would be a very different Scrubs, almost of spin-off proportions. I'd still watch it because I love all the characters, but it wouldn't be the same by a long shot. And now, for your Scrubs preview for tomorrow: (SPOILERS)quoteCarla goes into labor and an excited Turk strikes up the band -- literally -- while escorting her to the hospital, but he still feels upstaged by Elliot's attempts to make Carla more comfortable. A scheme to make himself look like the hero backfires and Turk is in jeopardy of missing the birth of his child. Lucky for him the whole thing is mistakenly being broadcast over the hospital's closed circuit TV. Meanwhile, J.D. and Kim contemplate their future and the future of their child. Enjoy!

"My Lunch" was probably my favorite episode of the last season. I'm not particularly fond of Nicole Sullivan's character on the show, but that is just a damn powerful episode. I mean, that was the one where Cox flipped out last season. Who can forget the exchange between the two? quoteJD: Remember what you told me? The second you start blaming yourself for peoples' deaths there's no coming back. Dr. Cox: Yeah, you're right. (Leaves room, slams door) I was honestly convinced Cox wasn't going to come back at that point. That was also the episode where everyone convinced the Todd he was gay. That was just a great episode, I can't wait for the Season 5 DVD to come out so I can watch it again. I haven't seen it in syndication yet.

I'm sorry it's been so long for me to add my two cents, I know everyone was hinging on pins and needles for this. I loved Thursday's episode. The plotline with JD and Kim was a bit tedious, I will admit. I'm not a big fan of Kim, to be honest, but at least JD is having a baby now and perhaps he will finally grow out of this childish stage of his life. That would be a good conclusion to the series, no? Kim has the baby, the camera pans to JD, and the mental narration ceases as he holds his son/daughter. Perfect. Of course, I don't want it to end that way, but if it did, I would be satisfied. I thought the greatest moment of the episode was Jack and Dr. Kelso's banter. "Your forehead is wrinkly." "Yeah? Well your shirt is gay." *bleep*ing classic.

quote Darknet
Are you kidding? That would be the saddest ending I've ever seen for a TV show. Reminds me of that fake comic strip someone made to end the Calvin & Hobbes series. I don't think it would be sad. JD has to grow up some time, that's what the entire show has been about. He has gradually gained more maturity as the show has gone on to become a confident, semi-well adjusted doctor. The only thing that's left is for him to abandon his inner monologue and fantasies, and I think the scenario I've presented would be a perfect ending. There's nothing wrong with a sad ending. I rather enjoyed that fake Calvin and Hobbes. Not as much as the real final strip though, I will admit. I was thinking this type of ending would be more "Wonder Years"-esque, where Kevin concludes his final monologue by shouting to his son that he's about to come out and play catch. That was also a sad ending, but it provided closure to the whole Winnie Cooper relationship deal while showing that he had matured as a person into a loving and caring father. I'm not talking about a completely somber ending, but if JD doesn't grow and ditch these personality quirks by the end of the show, his development as a character will have been for naught. And that would be a truly sad ending. As for the whole "when will it end" argument, Braff has gone on the record stating that this will likely be his last season of Scrubs due to his commitment to several film projects, including a faithful prequel to the "Fletch" franchise, which (quite frankly) I can't wait for. The creator of the show, Bill Lawrence, hasn't stated whether or not the show will continue after Braff has left. So, it is very likely that this will be the last season of Scrubs, but it isn't set in stone yet. Personally, I hope the series does end soon, before the storylines become cheap and overused.

I think you could legitmately base a spin-off series on the Dr. Cox character, but you couldn't call it Scrubs. I think a prequel show where it shows how Cox handled the intern/residency/doctor process would be very entertaining, specifically if you brought back Jay Mohr to play his character from Season 3 and you could see how his marriage to Jordan initially fell apart. Of course, I don't think there's much interest in either the network nor the collective viewing public for that to happen, but a guy can dream, can't he? Here's the preview for tonight's episode. Be sure to catch "The Office" hourlong holiday special beforehand, it looks hilarious as well. Spoilers:quoteMy Coffee
J.D. and Kim are surprised of how much they have in common. Recently giving birth, Carla prepares to return to work. Elliot tries to persuade Dr. Turner, a surgeon with thirty years of experience, that medicine is the better option to work with and that surgery could kill him.

I still maintain that my description of the ending should be how the series ends. But I have no creative power, so I'm going to stay out of it.
I loved tonight's episode again. This season has already maintained a high quality that I expected, but because it has delievered I am that much more excited. I particularly enjoyed Dr. Cox's tip jar.

If you like Scrubs, and you're a younger fan, I highly recommend you check out some repeats of M*A*S*H in syndication. I know for sure they still air on FX, and you can probably find a few on your local stations. Without M*A*S*H and the brilliant comedic stylings of Alan Alda and crew, you wouldn't have Scrubs.

Colin Hay also makes an appearance on the Garden State soundtrack with "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You." It was the first episode of the second season, and one of my favorite moments of the entire series is when Cox grabs his guitar and smashes it against the side of the building. Very, very funny.

This episode was alright. There really weren't any classic lines from Cox, but Janitor's paintball gun-slash-business card printer is probably the greatest pointless invention I've ever seen.
As badly as I want to see JD happy, I'm kind of glad Kim skipped town. Aside from a few very funny moments in her first episode, I don't think she's been all that great of a character so far. She doesn't fit into that core group of friends around which the series is centered; but then again, I've had that feeling with most of JD's love interests (with Elliot being the obvious exception). I thought Julie (portrayed by Mandy Moore last year) was the only girlfriend JD has had that really clicked with the cast, and of course she was nixed after three episodes.
Ted's cameos are also becoming more and more hilarious. When he's given less screen time, his lines are made that much more comically effective. I loved when he got hit in the face with the paintball tonight as well, hilarious.

re: Scrubs

I wasn't all that impressed with last week's episode, either. We've seen Janitor and Cox conspire against Kelso before, so the storyline with the deserted suite wasn't all that interesting to me. Cox had a similar disinterest in going home the last time Jordan was pregnant, so those jokes also seemed a bit stale. I did enjoy seeing Jordan walk into the hospital with the rumbling in the background to Clay Aiken's version of "Isn't She Lovely"...the actual song that played during her appearance, not "The Crane Wife 3" (but I was stoked to hear The Decemberists on network television!) Coincedentally, that song was also performed on "My Life in Four Cameras" from Season 4 during the hospital's talent show contest in JD's daydream.
JD's jealousy of Elliot's cash was also a bit tired...I mean, we've seen JD jealous of Elliot's relationships, her skill as a doctor, and her ability to stand up to Cox and Kelso, so introducing her newfound income to an old equation was overkill to me.
The only actual fresh storyline, Carla's depression, was underdeveloped and given too little airtime, in my opinion. It was also solved in a way that, to be honest, seemed like a cop-out. It made sense in the context of the show, but it made Carla seem weaker than she actually is, in my mind.
I don't know if I'd make the hasty conclusion that this is "the worst season of Scrubs yet." I thought the first two episodes were very solid, and even the last four episodes, while weaker, were better than 90% of the other programming on television. I'm also expecting great things from the musical this week, so I'm going to stop the criticism here and let Braff and Lawrence work their magic.

quote Darknet
trendy, you are putting way too much thought into Scrubs when you're watching it. Scrubs is the type of show, like many others, where if you think too much it will suck. Ever hear the phrase "leave your brain at the door"? I do not want to tell you how to watch the show but if you don't sit back and enjoy it you'll be let down almost every time. It's not that I "think too much." You should interact with every form of art you encounter, including visual entertainment like television programs. If not, an internet forum to discuss them, or indeed the cliche "water cooler discussion," would be irrelevant in our society. I'm merely analyzing the relationships of the characters. Clearly Scrubs is not a mindless sitcom--there are deep-seeded messages about our own relationships in the interactions of the characters in the show. Otherwise, there'd be no redeeming value to a drama at all, other than catharsis. And there are plenty of avenues for that in our society. My position is that, essentially, Scrubs is falling back on old storylines presented in a fresh light. While it may seem new and entertaining to new viewers (of which I know there are many, Scrubs' popularity has definitely benefitted from a "My Name is Earl" and "The Office" lead-in), I've been watching the program for a long time and I can see beneath the veneer. I'm still enjoying the show, I just want to either A) see some new storylines with new insight to the main characters' behavior or B) see Scrubs go while it still has a bit of its freshness and irreverence. That's all. I hate to seem so "intellectual" in my viewing choices, but I have so little time to watch television I like to interact with what I watch and become engaged in it. It's just like people positing 30-page theories on what's happening on "Lost" or everyone sitting in front of their set right now pointing out the flaws in the "American Idol" contestants. I just prefer this program.

I disagree. I thought this episode was by far the best of the young season. Every song was hilarious (my personal favorite was Dr. Cox's song about how annoying JD was, and Janitor's solo) and even though the musical deal was obviously a gimmick, it worked well and didn't feel *too* tacky. I thought for sure the patient was going to die, though, after the first fifteen minutes, but it became clear that that obviously couldn't happen after the final song.
I still have mixed feelings about this season. I thought it started well and this musical episode did not disappoint, but the other episodes have been "ho-hum." We'll see.

She's a bitch, plain and simple.
Tonight's episode vaulted into my top 5 of all time immediately. The Janitor's semi-amnesiac tumble out of the RV, Jack's "jimmy shot" on Dr. Cox, and the surprise ending sealed it. I don't think she's being too big of a bitch, she wanted to take the job and didn't know any other way to break it off with JD if he knew she was still having the baby. It's a dishonest and terrible thing to do, to be sure, but not something you couldn't imagine real people in similar circumstances doing.
I wonder how JD will find out, and what they will do. I knew the Kim storyline couldn't end that suddenly. It goes without saying that the "best episode of this season" award, for me, has been trumped. Bravo Scrubs, you've still got it.

That's the only explanation I can think of. It's obvious she still has feelings for J.D., but to ask him to move away from Sacred Heart seems above her head. I can't really fault her for what she did, but the fact that J.D. thought she was being completely honest with him (and why wouldn't he?) means that when he finally does find out, he's going to be pissed. Enough to where I don't see them getting back together, despite the fact that they've had a kid together. I mean, unless some type of romantic "Fools Rush In"-esque scenario occurs where he helps deliver the child in the rain or something, in which case the beauty of life will make him come back to her or something. But that's a little too sentimental for my taste.
Either way, expect a mentor-like talk from Dr. Cox. Even if he doesn't have experience in this sort of thing, Cox is going to influence J.D. to do what's right for the kid. I honestly have no idea what's going to happen, which is awesome because two weeks ago I thought I had the final plotlines for this show mapped out. Once again, I'm floored by the sheer awesomeness of this show. Bravo, Zach Braff, Bill Lawrence, and company.

Another very fine episode this evening. I can't believe Turk used the "Booyakasha!" from Da Ali G show, that was a nice touch.
I was kind of disappointed with Cox's "World's Longest Shush" though. That could have played out a lot longer and with a greater degree of hilarity. I did, however, enjoy the month timespan of the episode, I thought that worked really well. Especially when Kelso comes in with the tan and the dreadlocks, that was the perfect payoff.

This episode is lame. I disagree. I would have liked a segment of all Dr. Cox rants, but meh. I was reminded of some great lines/situations that meshed together over the years, and the episode really made me want to go back and watch all my DVDs over again. Ah, spring break will be filled with much Scrubs mirth. I definitely want to know that song that played during the dancing montage. I enjoyed it alot.

Whatever happens, I think this week's episode deserves a place with "My Screw Up" and "My Old Lady" as one of the top 3 episodes of the entire series. The jokes were top-notch (I LOVED the coordinated response by the men of the hospital about Mexican football in the spring) and the contentious scenes with Cox and Laverne were outstanding.
I hope Laverne will come back, but I sincerely doubt it. It's a shame, Laverne had some of the best one-liners ever (Do you plan on getting off of me anytime soon, or are you gonna make this worth my while? Is narcolepsy falling asleep after having sex, because if so, Mr. Roberts has it.) Maybe we'll finally see the mythological Mr. Roberts, I'd like to see who has put up with Laverne for all these years.

He's always been that way, it's not the first episode he's shown a general disdain for religion.
My favorite Cox religion speech was when he was waiting for the elevator one time and Carla and Jordan were drilling him. He prays intently for God to save him, and the elevator arrives. As the doors close, he says, "He's always got my back! Even if I don't technically believe in Him!" I think it's a nice touch for his character.

Oh man I just watched Thursday's episode (I missed it this week), and I was once again floored by the show's ability to mix drama and humor ten times better than anything else on television, even though "The Negotiation" Office episode I also caught up with was pretty good.
"My mom had a uterus. I lived in it." Classic. Great episode, I'm gonna miss Laverne. I agree with Turmoil, they should have brought Ben back for that clip with Dr. Cox. But I think that would have been too sad for the gag, I mean, the last time I saw Ben on Scrubs I was tearing up. I can't imagine that joke would have worked half as well with Ben. Besides, if they were going to bring that character back, it would be terrible if it was just for two lines. I mean, he was hands-down the best Scrubs guest star, and it would have been a waste for him to have less than a minute of screen time.

True. I'm just saying if they did bring Ben back, I would only enjoy it if it was in a much grander capacity than Jill's two lines in Thursday's episode. If they did a prequel episode, or something along those lines, I would like to see him back. I'm still waiting for the episode that shows Cox as an intern. That way, you could bring back the former Chief Resident (I forget his name, he appeared in one episode where Cox tried to impress him but Kelso saved his life) and possibly even Dick van Dyke and Michael J. Fox. Of course, I'm getting ahead of myself there, that would make a great spin-off series in-and-of-itself. I mean, think of it, Jay Mohr could even make an appearance and we could see the birth of the Petey/Cox rivalry. I'm salivating right now thinking about it.

Dr. Cox blamed J.D. for Ben's death to cover up the fact that he held himself responsible. That's why Ben's ghost asks him to forgive himself for what happened, and when he does, Ben disappears.
I agree though, it makes more sense for Jill still to be in Cox's head. I just kind of wish we got to see more of Ben, he was by far the best of Scrubs' numerous stellar guest appearances.

Last night's episode was great, we finally got to see what the world looked like through the eyes of the Todd and Ted, both of whom showed up in spades in this episode.
"Just take the last word he says and add 'five' onto the end of it...Unfair five!"
Ted's inner monologue directed at Kelso: "YEAH! SUCK ON THAT BITCH! I'm going to murder you!"
Hilarious.

re: Scrubs

In case any of you can't get enough Scrubs AND Charlie Brown (like me), the cast did voiceovers for the holiday classic "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown" in character a few years ago. You can view it on Youtube here. I think seven seasons will be perfect for Scrubs. I just really want to know how the series will end-JD has to end up with someone, but who?

"...or decorating my penis with tinsel..."
"Where should we put your Christmas tree? I have an idea! How about up your ass?"
My only problem with it was Dr. Cox's rant was too nice. I mean, he should have been a little more verbally abusive of JD, I think, instead of merely referencing the fact that he was a girl. I loved it as well though, I'm sending it to all of my friends who are Scrubs fans.

I think he'll be fine. There's going to be a lot of pressure on him now to grow up, which I think he will eventually do.

re: Scrubs

I just want him to be more of a realist, like Dr. Cox, at the end of the show. I realize that's not really where his character is headed, and his crazy imagination is what makes him endearing, but he's just been becoming more and more of a whiny little nuisance throughout the years. I mean, it was cool when he was trying to get some legitimate attention from Cox, but now he's near tears because Elliot wasn't spending enough time with him when she's in a serious relationship and he basically pissed away his shot at ever becoming romantically involved with her again.
I just want to see him stand up for himself. I thought the J.D. at the end of "My Perspective"-he refused Dr. Cox's help and actually tried to deal with his problems on his own. That's the kind of J.D. I want to see on the series finale, to know that at least he's moving forward with his life. Right now he seems stuck, if you know what I mean.

JD will never be over Elliot, though I agree with you that he won't go and tell her. Even if he does, it's likely to end the exact same way as last time, and that would just be so damn disappointing that I don't think I could watch anymore. I really hope JD ends up with Kim, but I don't think that will happen, either. I do see a tinge of my prediction for the final episode shining through, however. I really do anticipate a JD like the one we saw at the end of last night's episode--quiet, introspective, and without a crazy daydream. He can still be quirky, but I want him grounded in reality at the end of the series. Otherwise, what were the last six or seven years for?

re: Scrubs

I think that the type of emotion JD showed on Thursday's episode is what sets Scrubs apart from all the other comedies on television right now. I mean, you get a little bit of it on The Office, when Pam and Jim kissed, but that was really about it. What's great about Scrubs is that the characters actually grow and develop, something you don't normally see in a regular sitcom. JD is realizing that he's missed the proverbial relationship train. It can still be funny, but the emotion is purely Scrubs.

NOOOOO WAAAAAAAY. This is the only time I've actually gotten pissed watching Scrubs. I knew it would happen the instant they were both in that on-call room, but the way it ended...damnit, I'm just so pissed off right now. Arg! I can't believe we have to wait until the fall to find out what happens. GRRRRRRR!

re: Scrubs

I'm just stunned, still. A little angry that the ending was such a cliffhanger (it really reminded me of the season finale in the first season, when Jordan lays that bombshell on everyone-I'm that pissed) but it was a terrific episode in its own right and now I'm really psyched to see Zach Braff host SNL this weekend. I might actually stay in Saturday night just to watch it.
Does anyone know which Say Anything song that was that played at the end of the episode? It was perfect, and I must listen to it again immediately.
EDIT-Alive with the Glory of Love. I'm stoked about the music selection this season: The Decemberists, Martin Sexton, The Fray, and now Say Anything. It's like a who's who of my favorite bands.

But don't you know people like that in real life? People who find happiness and then piss it away for some reason you can't fathom? Hell, I've done that on occasion. It's very realistic.

re: Scrubs

According to JD, he and Kim did it "Rowdy style." Best line of the night, if you ask me. EDIT-I was looking at some stuff on Wikipedia, and I know we were discussing earlier in the season why Jill appeared when Carla asked Dr. Cox if he saw ghosts of former patients instead of Ben. Here's your answer: quoteBrendan Fraser was supposed to appear in "My Long Goodbye" as Ben because Carla asks Dr. Cox if he had ever seen a ghost, however, Fraser couldn't appear because he was currently filming a new movie. As such, Jill Tracy from "My Lunch" appears instead. That sucks. Just five seconds of Ben airtime is worth it, I hope he makes an appearance on the series finale or something like that. Also am I the only one who has completely lost interest in the character of Elliot. Of course she's obnoxious and obsessive but recently she's just become unbearable to watch. Anyone else?
I agree completely. I know she's overbearing and controlling, but in Thursday's episode it got to the point where I was yelling "Bitch!" at the screen, especially when she was discussing the bachelorette party with Carla. It all worked out in the end, but it got to the point where I just wanted to grab a stick, hit her, and say, "NO!"

Just a reminder that the Season 5 DVD is available for sale in America tomorrow. I wouldn't buy it now that the episodes are in syndication, but seeing as how I now have the previous four seasons, I'll purchase it just for the sake of having the entire series so far on DVD. On a completely unrelated note, I'm still waiting for that damn Wonder Years DVD set.

re: Scrubs

Can someone explain syndication to me, because it seems like Comedy Central and the local channels only have the rights to certain episodes that they play over and over again and certain episodes of Scrubs that I own on DVD are never played on television. I've seen "My Old Lady" fifteen times on TV, but I've never seen episodes like "My Porcelain God" or "My Tuscaloosa Heart." There's gotta be a reason for that.

In England, Season Six begins airing on the 28th on E4 (whatever the hell that means) at 9PM. That season has already aired in the United States, you can find it on iTunes or several other locations online.

If by years you mean weeks, than yes I agree. The last post was in July.
Anyway, the final eighteen episode season is right around the corner. Can't wait to see how the series ends, but I'm really excited to see what happens between Elliot and J.D. I hope they don't end up together, they've proven time and time again they don't belong together.

I though My Musical was great. It showed the versatility of the actors and provided a nice little change of pace for a week. "Guy Love" is one of my favorite songs of all time.
I'll definitely be getting Season 6, I also own Seasons 1-5 and I plan on having them all available for many years to come, after Comedy Central and all the other stations eventually drop it from syndication.

Janitor is a compulsive liar, it's part of his character. I think it's safe to assume that he lives alone, what with the army of squirrels he once kept in his apartment. If he was the one that revealed his own name in the final episode, I wouldn't believe it, it would have to come from an official source or another character. I hope the show leaves off with Janitor throwing a penny at JD and yelling, "I knew it was you!" That would be perfect.

I'm pretty sure the new season is starting later because only 18 episodes were ordered. I wish the Season Six DVD would come out sometime this month, to get me hyped for the final season, but I can wait until October 30th for that, too. I need to spend time with my new guilty pleasure (House) anyway.
