Optimus Prime gone?!

I was wondering if those of you who remember the old Transformer's better than i do and verify something i heard. i read somewhere that Optimus Prime is destroyed by the Decepticons??! is this true? or did it happen in the movie?

That was one of the saddest things when Optimus dies in the movie. Then they get Ultra Magnus too, but he gets fixed immediately

Isn't Optimus still in Beastwars, or another new Transformer show because I swear I heard his name? They were travelling around in the city and they had these Autobot train Transformers. The show I mean also has that decepticon shark transformer.

The original transformers was so cool, with all those airplane decepticons, the constructobots, stuntbots, etc, and now its just crap compared to the old ones. How can they put on a lower form of quality cartoon and not show the originals? Same with GI Joe, the old ones were cool.

what ever happened to the classics? what have they done with them? they sure replaced this cartoon series with a whole lotta crap-ola. it used to be SUCH a good show! SHEESH!

i use to watch transformers all the time as a kid, i remember one episode where a transformer (the one that turns into a sports like car with a fat spoiler) looks for the matrix, and he goes on a deserted spaceship, and finds Optmus Prime, nd they hav fights and stuff, and the matrix i in OptimusPrimes chest, and when he takes it out, he shrinks to the normal size of a transformer (he's about 3 feet taller witht he matrix)

Nuwave the car you were referring to was Hot Rod and he became Rodimus prime after he opened the matrix. He turned into something that looked like a mix between a Lamborghini and a minivan, he was way cooler before he opened the matrix, after he just looks retarded.

Okay i know this is an old thread but i didnt want to start another thread on Transformers as it would probably get closed...

Anyway there seems to be a Transformers revival of the original series. I went into our local Forbidden Planet and theres comics, magazines and books detailing all the original toys etc. Fantastic!
