How is "out of nowhere" a bad thing? Unless you've read the books, no one has a clue where things are going and what's going to happen next. They have little "out of nowhere" moments with Tywin and Arya and then they have even bigger shock value moments like what we saw with that ending, all still remaining faithful to the series from what I gather. Why is that a "very bad thing". lolz

You're absolutely right actually. I have no idea what I except from the series. In the first few eps of Season 1, I thought it was this grounded medieval quasi-fantasy. The reason I'm still watching is because a part of me hopes it goes "back to that" while the other part of me knows that maybe it never was what I thought it was. There's dragons, and black magic, and shadow creatures. The paragraph is confused because I'm confused.

And the difference between the shadow creature and Tywin/Arya isn't that one is out of nowhere and the other isn't. Both are obviously new developments. I meant the "rule" that a shadow creature can come out of a woman is out of nowhere. The "rule" that Tywin Lannister can be impressed by intelligence isn't. He hates Tyrion, but appreciates his intelligence and makes him Hand of the King. We see that repeated here. I appreciate good character development that progress the story. Shadow creates is something that, sure is alluded too, but I never thought that that was allowed to happen in this world. That, too me, is careless writing and a "very bad thing,"

BrokenKnights, you're expecting too much HBO's Rome and not enough Lord of the Rings. I just don't have a comment anymore to your complaints and agree with Pedigree's response. lol

Yeah, I thought the actress acted accordingly. Dany was frustrated. She wanted to rip their heads off but knew she was completely at their mercy and had to hold back her anger or her people would die, which she slipped when she threatened them to burn their city down. Dany is still young and is still learning, what it takes to be a leader, isn't her character only around 15 in the show? I get the impression if she showed the dragons to that guy, they would have taken them and killed her and her people. But I also have to wonder what's from stopping them from doing that anyways, which leads back to my question on the dragons from my review post:

Sadly, although I want her dragons to rise up and for her to start burning cities down, I realize this probably wont happen for another 2 seasons, at the very least. No spoilers, but does it take a while in the books for the dragons to grow up? Just to adress my earlier point about the Qarth scene i actually thought the actress playing Dany was fine. She pulled the whole typical Targaryen anger thing off nicely as usual and did a good job looking confused. The folk from Qarth seemed to be going for uncaring and aloof but polite and it just came across as wooden.

Nevertheless i'm still excited she's there.

I thought it was kind of weird that they didn't refer to The Mountain by his real name,



since Littlefinger called him The Mountain in the first season. Maybe they're saving it so Arya can be all surprised

I'm not really sure where you're going with this?
she said she wants to kill his brother the hound, she probably wants to kill the mountain as well because he killed the guy who saved her in king's landing but I don't know why it would make a difference what his name is, she might have already said his name but I don't remember her mentioning him... and she probably already knows his name and relation to the hound.
