Set to premiere June 29, Louie is a comedy filtered through the observational humor of Louis C.K. Each episode puts a spotlight on Louis' hectic life as a successful stand-up comedian and newly single father raising his two daughters. The single-camera comedy is a mix of Louis C.K.'s stand-up comedy and scripted short films. Louis C.K. serves as executive producer, writer and director, and Dave Becky and 3 Arts are executive producers. FX has ordered 13 episodes of the series which is shot in New York.
I'm not surprised there's no thread for this yet, it seems to have slipped under the radar a bit. Being a huge fan of Louis CK, I caught the 2-episode premiere last Tuesday night, and I loved it. This is a very funny show, and since it's airing after 11PM on FX they can pretty much get way with almost anything. For anyone else who's a Louis CK fan, episode 3 airs tonight at 11pm on FX, followed by an encore of episodes 1 and 2. Highly recommended!
Here's a clip from episode 2...it's raunchy, politically incorrect, definitely NSFW, and hilarious!

I literally watched that youtube clip a couple hours ago and started wondering why I was late to dude's show. (The porno promo with the parrot penis talk is classic material).
Oh my, I couldn't even make it through the seven minutes of that clip. I don't seem to find him funny at all, although I did chuckle at some of the commercials.
it's a charming mix of stand up, dick jokes, and engaging, well written conversation. louie is one of the best working comedians and i'm glad he got the opportunity to make this.
Episode 4 aired last night, and I can't remember the last time a show made me laugh so hard, I was in tears. Easily the funniest show on TV right now. I love that the stand-up sequences are shot on-location and are completely authentic, and that other scenes in the show never seem contrived or "sitcom-ish", giving the show a raw, unscripted kind of feel. This show has a brutally funny, unapologetic way of dealing with serious or thought-provoking issues without beating the viewer over the head with them, too. Louis CK is able to look in the mirror without flinching, and make the rest of us laugh at what he sees there. I *bleep*ing LOVE this show!
The 1st time i read about it i was thinking about "Life with Louie". Seen a few episodes and the part where they sit and talk about homosexual at the poker game... EPIC
I watched the first several episodes last summer, but couldn't catch the last two or three. It's a great show, kind of what Seinfeld was originally supposed to be before it took on a life of its own and Larry and Jerry opted for a more traditional sitcom feel to it. I think my favorite part of the first season was when he got hit on by that younger girl, and couldn't figure out why she wanted to have sex with him. Then the sex was so freakin' awkward, haha. New season starts in June on FX, and I can't wait. Great summer series.
Definitely one of my new favorite series, each individual episode has its own charm and controversial theme one of my favorites being the episode where he is in a catholic church as a kid lol. Can't wait for season 2 in june
Got around to watching that clip. I've got to admit, it had me laughing pretty hard. Not my kind of TV though.
Blasphemy. I started making my way through Season 1 the other day. It's vile, outrageous, and hilarious. That clip above is still one of the funniest parts though.
I think the biggest difference in this second season (besides a noticeable step up in writing/direction) is just a weird tone of positivity that seems to be coming from him. Like the episodes are just as honest & optimistic as they are hilarious/depressing. I really just love his camerawork, I've seen each of these s2 episodes like five times.
