I feel like it would've been better at this point to end the show after Season 8. But I decided to give the first two episodes a shot and....somehow...I liked them.

It definitely feels like Scrubs, and while it's not what I've known and loved for several years, it's not bad. Lucy is basically a rehashing of Elliot, which I don't like. I'm waiting for something to make her unique. There's gotta be something. I also don't like her monologues. Cole, I hate the guy, just like I'm supposed to. But at least he's something new. Turk and JD are still awesome, Cox is still the best, and #1 (forgot his actual name) is pretty funny. Denise just continues to get better to me.

I'll keep giving the show a chance. I'm still not sure about it, and the lack of Ted, Janitor, Carla, Elliot and the rest is kind of annoying, but I still feel like it's just a new season of my favorite show. We'll see.

Forgot about that. You're right. So that takes away the last redeeming quality I had of Cole.

Cox and Turk are still Chief of Medicine and Chief of Surgery, they're also teachers at the med school (Winston University). The new Sacred Heart Hospital is located on campus. I just wanted to mention that because I got the impression some of you thought they're just med school teachers now.

The premiere was pretty good, with the second episode being much better. It's still funny, it's just obviously we're missing most of our favourite characters which is hard to get over right away. Carla not being in season 9 will definitely be weird, but I'm guessing they're going to be focusing much more on just the medical stuff, than the character's personal lives.

The funniest part was definitely Cox's orientation speech to the students, that was hilarious. I'm also really loving Denise, "If you're going to kill yourself - I'm looking at you, sad eyes - do it off campus because it is a buttload of paperwork."

Watched the newest ep and it was.. ok. I pretty much only liked Turk's line "WHY IS YOU AWAKE!?". The security guards are getting annoying, so is that Cole guy. And having Denise go soft for two episodes in a row is blah. Other than that, enjoyable. I thought they were gonna do stuff with the Australian chick(apart from the dodgeball scene), she's hot

Looks like they're also setting things in motion for J.D leaving.

I have mixed opinions, the sentimental person inside me is happy because he hates things to end. However there are many flaws in the new season. When JD left at the end of season 8 he was whole. A mature person who was happy and secure with himself, seeing him get jealous over Drew has caused his character to regress back to his former self. Seeing as he will be leaving at the end of episode 6 it almost feels like they are leaving him incomplete.

The Dr Cox and Turk not being Chief is stupid, they both strived for years to get those positions. Also seems a little sad without some of the old characters i.e. Carla. Also Elliot is said to be in the first 6 episodes, only seen her once!

Saying all that the show as a whole is fun to watch as long as you forget about the stuff mentioned above. The new characters are solid. As long as fans see this as a new show I see it doing pretty well (unlike the spin off from Friends, Joey).

Is it possible to have a very demanding job (chief) and teach on the side? We saw how hectic Cox's schedule was as chief in season 8. Also when did they both say they were still chiefs?

Tacking another season on after this is just sacrilegious.
