Modern Family (formerly known as My American Family) is an American single camera mockumentary comedy, which premiered on ABC and Citytv in Canada, on September 23, 2009. The series currently airs 9:00 Wednesdays in the 2009-2010 season. The mockumentary follows the families of Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill), his daughter Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) and his gay son Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). While Clarie is a homemaker mom in a traditional family, Jay is married to a much younger woman and raising a teenage stepson, and Mitchell and his same-sex partner have an adopted Asian baby.

I loved the first episode. The 'cool' dad is my favourite character and the grandfather with his younger wife and crazy son was brilliant.

Modern Family and Vampire Diaries...two great new shows. Although, I'm pretty pissed as to the new outbreak in vampire shit tbfh.

Has anybody been keep up with this show? Seriously one of the funniest shows I've ever seen, and it's only a few episodes in. The dad has to be one of the most brilliant characters of all time. Seriously, if that guy doesn't win an Emmy this year, I'll be stunned. If you don't watch this show, you need to check it out. Absolute hilarity backed up by great characters and spot on acting to match. There's no way you can be disappointed.

Cougar Town is my guilty pleasure, haha.

This weeks was pretty good although the argument did get kind of boring half way through although Cam jumping in the pool was so funny.

When does this show come on? I've been watching it on Sky Anytime, but I don't know what day it comes out

Holy shit, they somehow got both Edward Norton and Elizabeth Banks to guest star on this last week's episode. That's awesome.

Re-watching Season 1. I would really recommend this show to anyone looking for a good comedy. It's almost like a post-Friends TV show. Sort of Monica and Chandler raising a family. Phil Dunphy is just like Chandler and Claire is basically Monica.

I watched the entire first season over the past few days. Really enjoyed the different blends of character, their interaction with each other and the lack of a need for a specific plot for each episode. It's one of those shows you can pick up and watch a random episode without having kept up with.
