Wildly famous mystery novelist Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is bored with his own success. Then he learns that a real-world copycat killer has started staging murder scenes depicted in his novels. Castle is questioned by NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), a bright and aggressive detective who keeps her investigations under tight rein. Though they instantly clash, sparks of another sort also begin to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Castle steps in to help find the killer. And once that case is solved, he and Beckett build on their new relationship as they look to solve more strange homicides in New York - as much fun as one can have with death and murder.

Castle is kept grounded by his Broadway diva mother, Martha Rodgers (Susan Sullivan), and quick-witted teenage daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn). Also starring in the series are Ruben Santiago-Hudson as NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito and Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan.

Only saw this show for the first time tonight, the end of the first season, 10 episodes, and it was amazing! Witty humour, some faces I recognized, great storyline and character development!

Cannot WAIT for next season to come around!

Weird, quite a popular show (average 9 million viewers per ep) and I haven't heard of it until now. I'll check out the first few episodes today.

Midseason show, it didn't premiere until fairly late in the season. Also ths could be considered a trial run of sorts to see if it gets good enough ratings to get a second season. We'll know next week but it's said to have decent odds of returning.

I was told that it was indeed more of a trial deal, like DCRage mentioned above. I think Breaking Bad went through the same trial period, and from the inklings I got from the news articles about the show it did well enough to likely earn itself a second season.

Which would be great, because I've missed Nathan Fillion since Firefly's all too tragic and shortened demise. =P

He was great in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, if you haven't seen that already. Drive was a terrible show though, I thought that might've ended his career.

First episode was great, I'll probably buy the rest. Definitely a breath of fresh air with all these crime-dramas floating around.

I haven't watched every episode, but from what I have seen this shows looks very promising. I predict at least 3 seasons. Nathan usually does a great job with all his roles.

We'll be getting at least 19 more episodes at the very least, which is great. The show didn't get much in the way of advertising so I hope this year it gets a little more PR.

Castle is back!

New season began with a bang. Loved the way they were portraying the strained relationship between Castle and those who were supporting the detective. Can't wait for next week!

Enjoying the new season so far. If anything, it's been getting better as time goes on, which is kickass since the first season was awesome. The humour and character depth is only getting better.

Wish more people on Neoseeker watched it.

It's a quite good show to be honest. But I have the impression that the show lacks a fan base and hence quite possible be dropped after the season is finish. I love the relationship between beckett and castle. They have good chemistry. Castle's mom and daughter also provides with the necessary supporting cast which makes the show quite great. Look forward to the show every monday

That was great, I laughed my ass off on that one. The episode where he was going to scare the prom date was great as well, it was hilarious as all the guys were recounting the horrors of meeting the fathers.

Love the interplay between the mother, daughter and father. Poor daughter, she's the sane one of the house.

Yeah, hilarious family. Alexis is such an innocent daughter. The worst thing she's ever done is jump the subway turnstile? Damn.

Another great scene was the poker game between Castle, Beckett, the mayor, Judge Markway and Captain Montgomery. I've never seen a crime-drama involving a poker game like that. The mayor and judge even helped solve the case.
