Not just for the songs used, but also for the story line. I love how Curt's father stood up for him in front of Finn - and then Finn consequently stood up for Curt in front of the football jocks.
The cover of Bad Romance was just amazing too! Lady GaGa even gave the episode her seal of approval.
I really love this show. It's a refreshing change from what we've been seeing of late. <3

Kurt's dad makes me so proud, just because of how accepting he is. The fact that his son is homosexual isn't all that appealing to him, and can be difficult to cope with at times. But regardless, he does everything he can to be there for his son, no matter what. The episode when Kurt came out was awesome, especially when he scored the winning touchdown. It's a "Boo ya" moment.
What about the Journey episode? I liked the Medley, although I was sort of expecting more in entirety. It was a pretty good episode, though. Things tied together nicely with Quinn's baby. I loved the fact that she wanted Mercedes to be there. Can't wait for Season 2.
The Field Goal episode was a much better Kurt's dad moment than the Gaga episode, at least for me. It seemed a hell of a lot more realistic, there was a much better dynamic between father and son.
The set up in the Gaga episode was wierd -- it's not like Finn would've been cool with one of his straight friends decorating his room like that. He would've been just as pissed and found a differnt word that struck a different sore spot. Like the post above, I think the show is just way too preachy.

I hated it, so very very much. Like BrokenKnights, thought the Field Goal episode was far far better
I have enjoyed the relationship between Kurt and his father for most of the series. They haven't made it smooth and super happy, it has been awkward and that is a good thing, it suits both characters very well. It has been fascinating, and sometimes emotional, to watch these two very different (but somewhat insecure) characters try to cope. I had tears in my eyes at the end of the Field Goal episode, while there was probably a message in there, for the most part the relationship seems driven by story and characters.
That incident with Finn felt more "this episode's moral message is" driven then storyline/character driven.
Spoiler: in case anyone hasn't seen episode, don't look
Yes a row was coming, Kurt's behaviour was just begging for it. Could I see Finn using the F word? Just about I guess. Had the father done a quick lecture, Kurt recognised his part in it (or got told off at a later point), be some tension and eventually got settled, fair enough. Indeed, I thought the "Would you use the N word with your black friends?" bit was clever. People use gay as a an insult sometimes, at least where I come from, rather then F word but still, it hurts and if it makes people think? Great
Instead they came down heavily on Finn, by the time Kurt's father was done, I felt very sorry for Finn. He shouldn't have said what he did but really, a long rant at him, making clear how EVIL Finn was, the somewhat self righteous attitude of Kurt afterwards, the story completely ignoring Kurt's own awful behaviour.... Not fair handling by the writers. It felt less a story/character driven moment where they steered it slightly but "let's change the characters, ignore the story and feed the world with our moral message of the day." Very heavy-handed
It ruined the episode for me, I nearly decided to stop watching the series over it. To be honest, think they should go back to making it story/character based rather then subverting both for the episode's moral message
Series just finished on the channel I watched it on, looking forward to the next one whenever it comes over here. When doing songs like that, always a risk that some would be massacred but I enjoyed most of them. Got a group of good singers and the songs tended to feel right for that moment in the episode which helps. Characters are amusing and well acted, script can be good when it concentrates on the right priorities. Seemed to work out that the songs needed to be spread out among more members of the club and that some of the characters were being overlooked. They have adjusted to that but not quite got the balance right with the characters
I actually stopped watching after the break. Not really my cup of tea. I just happened to watch the gaga episode in a hotel room. If every episode has become this precahy then there's probably no reason for me to even consider going back to it.
But he shouldn't be drop dead gorgeous either, as I think that would be unrealistic. I think he needs an element of charm to him, and maybe not be completely camp - to kind of offset against Kurt's flamboyancy.
I wonder if this new character will join the Glee Club too?
(P.S That guy in your sig looks hot. Who is that?)

Once you kill a cow... ...you gotta make a burger.
True enough. I wouldn't want him to be ridiculously hot anyway, just something cute. But yeah, I hope he's a little more under-the-radar.
I dunno how I'd feel about him joining Glee. I mean, it would be kind interesting for them both to be in there, but at the same time, it's kind of cliche.
(It's Connor Paolo, the guy that plays Eric on Gossip Girl.)
And I wonder if this guy will get thrown in the dumpster too? Or perhaps it's one of the football jocks that decides to come out? I think out of all the story lines in Glee, Kurt's is my favourite.
Did you know that original it was going to be an indian kid, and not a gay kid? When the director saw Kurt's audition (Where he sang Mr Cellophane). Ryan Murphy liked him so much, that the part was written in just for Chris Colfer. Apparently the name Kurt Hummel is derived from the fact that Chris likens himself to Kurt from The Sound of Music with his vocal range, and the fact that Ryan though he looks like a hummel doll, with his rosy cheeks.
An interesting fact for you. ;D
(And I really need to get onto Gossip Girl. There's a whole number of hots, in that show - guys that is.)

Yeah, I knew the part was written for him, but I'm not sure if I knew it was original supposed to be a whole different character. Nice to know about the reason for the name though, you don't get too many of those backstories.
(And yes you do, there are quite a few yummies in there.)
