Monkey Island is probably the best 'point and click' adventure in video game history, so lets get the ball rolling here people and acknowledge what a truly classic game this is!!

I know what you mean, I'm quite bewildered by the sheer lack of activity on this forum. This game is an absolute classic and one which I still play on a regular basis. I'm going to check the activity (or lack of) on the forums for each of the other Monkey Island games. Which of the Monkey Island games do you own Little Miss Magic? And which one is your favourite?

These great games are under-apreciated. They are, without a doubt, the funniest series of games ever produced.

Yeah, I totally agree. The humour in 'Monkey Island' is first rate, rivalled only by that of 'Sam & Max: Hit The Road' (also by Lucas Arts).

Lucasarts definitely lead in the humourus games market. I mean some other games are funny... but lucasarts games, when intended to be, are Funny!! Oh, and lets not forget the insult sword fighting.

Go monkey Island allaalalal this is the best game ever My friend just happend to find it and he was about to throw it away and I said STOP ill take it and I but it into my pc and tada ... the best game I played on my pc for like ages now I mean classic games are awsome if you never played them and im also suprised that there arent no ppl here at all what up wit that. I first played this game 11 years ago and when I got it I beat it every single day. At night, I would go through in my mind every step to complete the game. I could probably do the game in 5 minutes.

I finally played it last night and I'm amazed at how well I remember it. Monkey Island Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, i am totally impressed by this game! i hope that monkey island 5 (if and when it finally comes out) will return to the graphics and the steering of monkey island 3! because, everyone who (like me) bought mi4 with great enthousiasm and great expectations got quite disappointed by the horrible 3d-graphics and the impossible keyboard-steering! brrrr ...

monkey 3 is most certainly the best of the 4 parts of the monkey island-series!

I didn't find the keyboard controls that hard, but then again I have played Grim Fandango to much... I think we should watch for the next Point and click game from LucasArts, no doubt it will be an experiment to see if the public (you and me) will like the new control system/graphics/etc. That will probably give us a good idea of what the next MI will be like.

Hopefully, Lucas Arts will release another 'Monkey Island' game in the not-so-distant future but, in the meantime, we have the sequal to 'Sam & Max' to look forward to - it will be interesting to see what graphics engine they will be using for that.
