Decc95 - Haha, I can't believe you found Dead Space through KSI. What an odd combination.

The main tips I can give you as a new player is to reserve your ammunition and use the objectives around you as much as you can to save some ammo. Do this by attacking and severing limbs off of enemies using Kinesis. If you're in trouble, use your Stasis on enemies as much as possible because there's always a Stasis regenerator somewhere nearby. When attacking an enemy, always aim to dismember the legs first. If their legs are gone, their travel is a lot slower and makes it much easier to pick them off. If you have any questions, please let me know because I adore both Dead Space games.

Thanks for the info, I got a good grasp of the game initially, dismembering them, then stomping them to death being my favourite method among the necromorphs. The only problem for me so far (I'm around chapter 5 or 6, pretty slow progress) is the children like creatures. They just come in large masses and at times, it's really hard to keep them under control. What would you say is the best way to deal with them? I used the ripper on them on our second encounter and it was very effective, problem is, it used quite a lot of discs but I seem to find a lot of them anyway.

All in all though, I'm really enjoying it, love the mechanics and physics of the game. I've been watching quite a few LPs of it and gaining tips - like changing the plasma cutter from the vertical aim to a horizontal (looks like a crossbow) which dismembers limbs quicker.

You know when you kill one of them creatures, you can pick them up and throw them at the other ones and it'll kill them?

Try find an area where they can't attack you from behind, kill one or two of them then proceed to Kinesis all of the dead ones on the ground and throwing their bodies at the others and it'll kill them. If you think that method is a bit risky (admittedly it takes a bit of practice), try using the Pulse Rifle on them because you shouldn't have to attack them with that much ammo because they're quite weak. The Ripper's good for them but that weapon's so powerful that ammo for it is scarce throughout the game.

Verticle Plasma Cutter is the way forward! Much easier to take the legs. What you can do is take both legs, switch to horizontal and take one of their arms. Normally both legs and one more limb will kill them. You should see the DLC for this game. Absolutely solid.

Mm, once you get used to the game and its features, using the enemy's limbs against them is epic.
