i was goin through the westersand after already killing fideliant in the midfault i left the screen and came back and he was there again. i thought rare game can only be defeated once? any1 else know this? also does any1 know where i can steal a bowgun or hand bombs early in the game?

ya, rare game can appear infinite times, I've found that cockatrice that comes with the faith buff prolly 10+ times =P not sure on what you can/cant steal from them tho

are you talking about the neckbet you can steal a rainbow egg and it drops wizard hat

I have defeated many a rare monster more than once. From what I've read, though, after starting a side quest to hunt rare monsters later in the game, after defeating them they won't respawn. I cannot confirm this. I just picked up this side quest and happened along a few rare since then. Some of them dropped trophies (for the quest), some haven't. I haven't run into any of them a second time yet.

I've killed 3 Wary Wolves in the span of like 15 min's so they aren't that rare. They got 5 stars for rarity and i've killed that many and I hardly goto the Highwastes.

Those Lindblum Wolves in the Estersands are rarer then that and they only got 2 stars. WTF?!?!

I think when people talk about not being able to kill Rare Mobs, they are talking about the Rare Mobs that pop up for the Rare Mark Quest(s).

I belive that once you kill one of those Rare's and you have the quest, they dont pop anymore.

Basically, if you have got a trophy (for the quest) from a Rare, they dont spawn anymore.

Are you talking about Elite Marks? They aren't related to Rare Monsters. Rare monsters are usually triggered by something along the same genus of that particular monsters. Like if you kill so many Mu, or so many wolves you spawn a UBER Rare monster type of that genus in that area.

just the rare game in general i know that 50 of the 80 will spawn indefinatly but the ones that drop engage/trophy items don't

Im talking about "Rare Game Hunts" (Think they are called this) that starts in the Phon Coast.

Basically, there is a Hunter at Phon Coast who after a point in the main quest offers a test hunt, and then about 30 hunts after this for "Rare Mobs" that only spawn I think for this quest line (I think is only this quest).
Upon killing these Rare Mobs, you get a trophy, which you turn into the hunters at Phon Coast for rewards once you have enough trophys.

Im not sure if these Rare Mobs Im talking about spawn before your on this quest though. It could be possible that these only spawn once you have this sidequest. In which case you guys who are not on this quest might not even be seeing the Rare Mobs Im talking about.

But if you are talking about these Rare Mob Hunts from the Phon Coast, Ive been reading that yes. Once you kill them, they are gone for ever.

The other 50 Rare Mobs, respawn for sure.

Thanks JbT. This is a question I'd been having too. And come to think of it, of the 5 trophies I've gotten, they all came from rares I'd never run into before, in areas I had highly traveled and cleared in the past.
