interesting problem in raithwall's tomb

i'm on my second play-though of ffxii at the moment, having just reached raithwall's tomb, which is where i'm running into a bit of a problem.

i'm well aware of the fact that it isn't necessary to fight the first demon wall, and i distinctly remember running from it the first time i played the game. but now, when i run to the far end of the bridge and try to go through the door, i can't. the little exclamation mark comes up and makes the ding-sound, but x-button sign doesn't appear and i can't get through the door. and then i get crushed by the wall.

is there something i'm missing?

When you first get to the wall you get a choice: Run or Fight. If you choose fight you can't get through the door until you defeat the wall.

if your leader is neither moving nor charging for an action,and is facing straight at the door,you should be able to go through by pressing x. perhaps your problem is that the charactor is charging for an action(like attack) when you try to go through(because of gambits)?
