Horse Racing

I figured horse racing is a massive market for betting so deserves it's own thread. So try and get your tips in before a race and if you claim a big winne ron an outside shot feel free to provide proof...

For myself I tend to lay horses but t'other day I had £6 on a 10/3 winner... been a while before that since I made any real bet.

I suppose to get the ball rolling what are your best bets on the hores in the past?

re: Horse Racing

The Breeders Cup starts in America tonight the first race being 8.35pm GMT

In the opening race the Breeders Cup Derby I have to side with Mastery or Father Time

This should go to a European horse as the turf and distance favour the Europeans

Decided to go £5 E/W each on Mastery at 7/4 and Father Time at 11/4

Hoping for 1. Mastery and 2. Father Time

Also before that in the 20.20 at Wolves I have £2.50 E/W on Summer Affair at 14/1

Edit - Summer Affair finished 3rd.. waiting to see the returns although really wish I'd backed the 2nd place hores who was 66/1!

He returned £9.50 and it + another £5 are going on Calculating in the 20.50 at Wolves

Bah - Breeders Cup Marathon is not good for me.. Father Time nowhere and possibly Mastery in 3rg but overall probably £15 losses.... come on Calculating in the next Wolves race!

£7.19 from Mastery going on Calculating too... putting a lot of love on him here!

Calculating wins nicely.. had quite a bit on him at two different odds..

Okay I'm finishing up with £52.43 no thanks to the Breeders Cup.. wish I had put everything in my account Calculating

re: Horse Racing

Unlucky mate. Nice one on Calculating though, saw that on the racing review this morning.

I am really tempted to put a big double on Conduit + Mastercraftsmen tonight.

Also going to have a small double on Pepe Simo and Gullible Gordon today. Both odds on and should win, might be a bit of easy money.

Pepe Simo won the 12:40 @ 8/11, hope some of you got on. Waiting for Gullible Gordon in the 2:50 to complete the double.

re: Horse Racing

Gullible Gordon was 4/7 fave but fell . Ah well, my London Gold & Collateral Damage double returned £132 so that made up for it.

Had a lovely night so far and am backing one more horse in the last race at Santa Anita. The big classic. I'm going against Rip Van Winkle and backing the unbeaten Zenyatta. Has won 13/13 races and is currently 4/1 to win on Betfair. If you're wondering why the price is so big for an unbeaten horse, it's because the horse is a filly and has never raced against colts. Also steps up in distance.

Despite this, I'm sticking a tenner on her at 4/1 with Betfair. A 13/13 record isn't one I'm going to go against.

Even if she loses I've made £160 from my original £27 so either way I'm happy.

re: Horse Racing

Today's racing looks cracking, gonna be doing some nice in running bets today. Anyway, tip for you guys to get on if you trust me.

12:50 - Chelt - Barizan. Currently trading at evens on Betfair, which I think is a great price considering he's not up against fantastic horses. The form is good on most, but Barizan has rapidly been improving lately winning races at tougher grades each time. With Mccoy in the saddle he should take this, despite being top weight.

7:50 - Wolves - Willing Foe. Godolphin newcomers are lethal, they've been winning left, right and centre all year long. Last night I had a big bet on Bronze Price who went from evens into 4/7 fave. Did it easily without breaking sweat.

Both trading at around evens or just over at the moment. Will most probably have a nice little double.
