Combat System

Out of curiosity, have you played the original Witcher? If so, how would you say combat has changed from that?

The combat system was greatly improved by the latest patch, Because prior to that, You could only strike one foe at once with a wide swing of the strong attack, but now you can harm multiple, normally staggering others.

As for it not being fun... I strongly dissagree, Its a very fluid combat system, as a simple swing of the camera can change your target, and with a click you roll and strike the next foe, I rarely parry because I'm a lover of the Aard sign, and usually use it to whittle down the numbers, then I usually focus on two foes at once, swinging between the targets does require some rhythm, but it works wonderfully, and you can keep two (three if you manage crazy speed) foes at bay without parrying.

We allso have to accept that it was dumbed down slightly to make it less clicky than the prior game, wich imo, is bad, now I click atleast half as much, and though the rhythm of clicks is gone save when you invest in his swordsmanship path, we have to recognise that Geralt, In Character, Is supposed to be one of the realm's better swordsmen, so it makes little sence for each fight to be a teeth gnashing challenge.

it was made fluid and easy to represent geralt's skill better. personally, i love it, and its much better than the prior.

I really can't say on the combat system itself. I've had the game since it hit the shelves, and I still haven't gotten past the prologue due to the camera. The slighest touch of the mouse sends the camera all over the place. So I wind up attacking 5 or 6 targets all over the map. I'm still a huge fan of the pause option in combat, so that I can see how many opponants I have left and where they are.

I think that the combat system is a bit flaw. I sometimes come across really bad glitches that make my sword not hit. I don't know if this is just my game or all of them. To top it all off, the combat gets real old, real fast. There's only so much of hitting one or two buttons and then it gets old.
