Today marks the beginning of the League of Legends World Championship quarterfinals for 2013's Season 3. That means that in less than 10 minutes the first of four matchups will begin, pitting North America's last hope Cloud 9 up against Europe's number one seed Fnatic. A best-of-3 match will decide which team continues forward and which goes home. After that Europe's second team, Gambit Gaming, will match up against Korean threat NaJin Black Sword.
Cloud 9 vs. Fnatic is scheduled for noon PDT and Gambit Gaming vs. NaJin Black Sword is scheduled for 4PM, though odds are Riot Games' analyst desk will add a good amount of spacing between the starts and finishes for each of the matchups. Today will decide whether any western teams will continue in the tournament, or whether eastern teams from Korea or China will dominate, so make sure to tune in.
Tomorrow will wrap up the League of Legends quarterfinals with Gamania Bears vs. SK Telecon T1 and Royal Club vs. OMG. Oddly enough, tomorrow's matches will begin at 7PM PDT rather than the Noon starting time of today's matches. Semi-final matches will then begin on Friday, September 27. It looks like the games are about to begin, so head over to one of Riot's League of Legends streams and start watching!
