Riot, at some point, decided that writing lore for League of Legends was either too expensive or too unprofitable to continue. Luckily, when they gave Penny-Arcade duo Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik the opportunity to create a Sneak Peek for a new champion, they decided to create both a comic and bring back the retired League Judgment for one more round. Thus we were introduced to Varus, the Arrow of Retribution.

Just for PAX, Riot Games gave sneak peeks of two different champions this week. The first, Hecarim the Shadow of War, was fully revealed with his skill-set earlier this week. Varus, who was introduced this morning, has only been provided a comic and judgment. We expect to hear more soon though, because both of these new characters are fully playable at PAX.

Jerry really knocks it out of the park with his wonderfully-worded judgment for Varus. While Varus himself may not have the most creative history, Jerry paints him as one of the most exciting League champions in months. I only hope Varus sells extremely well, so the argument can be made for Judgments to return full-time.
