no one got the reference. My friend tells me he's in elo hell because he "did what the team needed" or some garbage- meaning he played support all the way down. NOT I. I SHALL BE THE GUIDING LIGHT THESE POOR SOULS NEED AND WILL VICTORIOUSLY HIT PLATINUM BEFORE THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT MONTH.

Pretty sure they keep unranked and ranked separate.

The 'it takes one to know one' still would apply for ranked elo as well. You wouldn't be randomed with 1500 with 1200 unless your duo/premade 5 were around there, right?

If that was the case, god save us all from the trolls

More relevant facts:

- The loss of Elo over time is called "Elo Decay", in which if you don't play after 4 weeks it will bring your Elo down by 25 consecutively each week after. It will not drop you below 1400. This has happened to me twice now, and I can tell you playing Ranked 5's does not count as played Ranked Solo Que in the sense of stopping the decay.
- There is a rating system for normals, called MMR - Match Making Rating, runs along the same lines as the Elo system but a bit differently, you can calculate your MMR from some websites, but nothing that's 100% accurate.
- If your MMR is low even when you hit 30, you can play against high level 20's, in the same way if you Que with a level 5 and you're level 30, you'll run into ~20's also.

A full 5 with one player not level 30, matchmaking will try its best to find a full 5 with one player not level 30 and equal skill, of course parties are going to change things, but if you were to duo Q with a lesser level, you will find lesser levels as your opponents also.
