Ranked Games

Just started playing ranked today, and I find it great facing off against people that don't take the game serious to the point of exhaustion, but are there to play and do their best and try. So far I've got 3 wins, 1 loss. Any tips on ranked? Also, I don't even have a full rune page yet . 2050 IP per moverspeed quint is draining. I've noticed that some champions are just intsta-freezed out. Are those champs really that good?

Certain heroes will generally steamroll through a match only because people at lower ELO don't know how to stop them. Take Kassadin for example, he's a relatively overpowered hero that can easily be shut down if using the right ap mid. Doesn't mean he wont fair well irregardless because Kass is a very strong hero to begin with. Its easy to be fed as a Kass if you get a kill up early, its hard to master him to make sure that it always happens.

Shaco's not OP, just people like to stick without getting randomly stealth ganked.

Shen is just too stronk at this stage. Hes just an overall nightmare for an enemy team.

Rammus is just a standard, "I Don't want to see him ganking my lane" ban.

Morgana isn't overpowered, just a strong choice.

Basically any auto ban people are just strong picks that can carry a team much easier than most. The issue is that there are a lot of heroes that also carry just as well like Riven, Nautilus, Lee Sin, etc. People most of the time don't factor in the top lane picks.

Oh and, all heroes are overpowered imo. Just got to use them effectively. Obv some heroes are easier, but that doesn't mean its impossible to carry as an Eve.

There are champions people ban because they don't understand the mechanics of the champion, or they are just too strong.

Shaco for example, is an amazing early-game ganker, and gets easy ganks off at mid even if you're close to your turret, same with Twitch. He's banned alot because people don't like to play THAT safe, THAT early, as it costs them Creeps, potential kills, and experience.

I see alot of Nautilus and Malphite bans, which are just for the amount of tank and CC they bring to the table. Nautilus can ensure a knock-up on any carry, while Malphite can get permanent attack-speed reduction on the AD's with Frozen Heart and his E.

I've been banning Twisted Fate and Shen recently because people don't take into account TF's presence when they are laning. As soon as he hits 6, he can be involved in a gank, or a counter gank, which makes him very terrifying if people don't watch his every move, which should really be Mid and the Support's role. Likewise for Shen, but he's possibly even worse because he can be anywhere.

Ranked is not the try-hard but not whine-hard atmosphere that you've encountered so far, I find alot more ragers and QQ'ers than people who say "GL HF" or "NJ team". It's sad, which is why I'm glad I'm part of the latter now.

The reason champions like Morgana, kassadin, ahri etc. are banned so often is because alot of people don't know how to play against them, and champions like Shen, Nautilus simply have such a huge impact on all lanes that people don't want to face them. As for tips for ranked games, just think of each game as you playing alone with a team, don't judge your team's mistakes but judge your own. If you do the right move but your team isn't with you, remember that for next time and always note what's going on. Other than that, I'd say playing Jungler typically isn't something you're going to want to do, as your team will almost always blame you if they lose lane for any reason at all.
So summation: Don't play jungler unless it really is what you do, don't judge people even if they go full retard although constructive feedback is good, people don't always think of it like that.

A bad jungler in Ranked is uncommon, I've found. I mean, I can't jungle for s#!t, but I've had carrying junglers in 2 out of the 3 games I've won, and an average jungler in the loss (saying that, the whole team sucked that round, including myself) and no jungler in the 3rd win. But on my second win, the enemy had an absolutely amazing jungler, but two out of four of the rest of his/her team were feeding. So yes, a jungler can carry a game, but it is not his/her responsibility to do so.

On a side note: I love supporting in ranked games, because the AD carries aren't too stupid. And I can get a graves fed before 20 on 100+ CS, and a kill or two (depending on their skill level). Soraka ftw in ranked!

Most AD carries I've seen recently have around 100 cs by the 20 minute mark. There are people who know what they're doing, but they're certainly not the majority, until you hit the upper bronze, or silver tier elo.

and this is a shame to be honest, I don't even understand how a winning lane can miss ½ the cs, hell even a losing lane shouldn't.

I dunno if I should ranked again, I'm torn. On one hand...ranked, but on the other, I have exactly 1337 ELO. (I have barely ever played Ranked, so my ELO there hasn't actually risen much)

The super secret trick to Ranked, moreso than anything else, has always been the words "Duo Queue". Means you will always have somebody who you will be able to coordinate with more, VOIP, etc. Also one less person on your team who could possibly be a super derp, which is always nice.
