Congratulations, it's a pretty big deal to get that first Penta, has a great satisfying feel that'll keep you smiling for hours afterwards.

Got this Evelynn pentakill last night lol. Pretty funny since only a few months ago evelynn was considered a trollpick.

Also, third game eve ever.

So basically, us and this other team were neck and neck for the entire game. Around 40 minutes we were 43-43, and it was frickin' hard. Ahri was spectacular, basically chunking mofo's hp with a single Q, and she was good with her charm; that net us a some easy kills. Enemy Karthus was a major pain in the neck too, even though he gave up 2 early kills, after teamfights, he would score effortless triple kills with his ult. You can see the ridic MR I was stacking just because of that (I had a spirit visage, too, but I sold that for a GA)

People were complain about me too, because I had pulled out a few clutch saves with my ult.

All in all, everyone had a ridiculously strong presence in this game, which is so rare in solo queue and amazing. Diana was great in helping me peel peeps off our carries. Enemy Jax would scare the sh*t out of me and dive right into the middle of our team, chunking our Twisted Fate for practically all of his health. Ashe would land her cross maps ults (that's something you don't see often) and stun Karthus, letting us take him out easy and remove his ult out of the equation for the next team fight.

They pushed us all the way to our nexus, destroyed out double towers, and put us on the ropes.

Just great allies, and great enemies. We eventually figured out that sniping the Karthus who was ulting us for half our health was a good idea, and we managed to steamroll back into their base once we killed him a few times.Phew. Awesome. So lesson learned-- everyone is OP.

Haha, yeah, in retrospect, I'm not sure about a couple of the items here. See anything particularly wrong with my build? I didn't get armor because Karthus was the main threat most of the game, but there were a couple of hybrids, so I went with a second warmog's after that.

IIRC, those madred's were for sneaking Baron, but I don't have a clue why TF went for black cleaver. Not sure what fizz was going for with that zeal. Trinity?

Hm. I didn't bother countering Jax much. He would scare the hell out of me by jumping onto TF and bursting him down for all of his health, but the main threat was Karthus pretty much all game. Building MR made me half-counter Jax anyhow. And lee sin. And Teemo. And Fizz.


Personally I was never big fan of Trinity on Jax. Rushing it always made me way too squishy compared to if I spent the cash on a building up Frat/Atmogs combo. I'm actually really bad with him; i would forget to ult a lot rushing into fights, so my crappy jax builds usually reflect that. lots of health to reflect that fact that's I'm running in half the time w/o an ult.

He actually wasn't THAT squishy, for some reason. Maybe his Runes? The only health item he made all game was that Catalyst, and that was because Stacked Mejai Ahri kept on blowing half his health away with her Q.

You should definetely have gotten Wit's End over abyssal, also double warmog's is bad with GA, you should've gotten Atma's or Randuin's instead of it. Maybe also a Sunfire instead of a warmog's since that allows you to splitpush.

Sunfire is pitiful for the sole purpose of split pushing. It's what, 30 damage a second? Minions will easily be at 700 and 800 health at the time of the game he was in. Wit's end is great on Shen, maybe Atma's but not necessary. They had plenty of damage. His job is to soak damage and disable.

That 40 damage is affected by resistances and does not work with Spellvamp, it's an okay item, but I'd hesitate to take it on most champs. It's cost is generally not worth it.

For Shen I generally build towards AD with my damage instead of AP, since that meshes better with how I play him. As Jungle Shen I generally go:

1. Boots&3
2. HoG
3. Merc Treads
4. Warmogs
5. Atmas
6. An Attack Speed item, usually Wits, but if I need more armor I'll build towards that instead
7. Randuin, Frozen Mallet, or Maw.

A breakdown by item:

1. Starting boots is something I just prefer, you can also start a Ruby Crystal, or Cloth&5, but I find I don't need the extra tank on Shen to get that first clear down.
2. Early gp10, good idea. It allows you to camp a bush for a little bit while attempting to gank, while not falling as far behind, as well as just generally gives you more cash. Shen is not a fast jungler early, he just doesn't clear fast, so that gold really helps. Most junglers I see, even on decently fast champions, take gp10 early.
3. Merc Treads are awesome.
4. Warmogs gives a ton of HP and allows you to focus on resistances more after you finish one, since it gives just tons of HP.
5. Atmas is a very common item specifically because it rewards building tank, with free damage. It gives some decent armor, and is in the mix just because it makes you a threat. A Shen that can deal damage during a fight will be more of a problem than one that can be ignored while his dash is down. Shen already gets into melee and slaps people around a lot during fights, so this just makes that hurt. The Crit% won't be high, that's a given, but it is high enough to actually proc and increase your overall DPS, which is enough to work.
6. I like having an AS steroid, paired with Atmas you can cause some nice havok. Wits is a good one, since it gives MR, but if you don't need any MR, Starks is actually a good thing to consider, since your carry will benefit as well as you, and the lifesteal/HP let you tank better anyway. If you're doing really well early on, swapping out a HoG purchase for a Wits early, can also really let you pressure hard. Mundo junglers tend to rush a Wits early on if they can, because of that free on hit damage, it's just a really nice item.
7. Final item is situational (and sometimes bought before/instead of the Attack Speed, if needed)
   1. Armor: Sunfire is cost inefficient and not worth building, especially on a jungler with as slow a start as Shen. For just like 400g extra, you can get a Randuins instead of a Sunfire, which gives 30 extra armor, HP regen, a passive effect that actually helps you tank damage, an active effect that helps your entire team take less damage, and it builds out of a gp10 item, which allows you to not waste an early purchase of gp10, something that's really, really good on slower junglers. The only downside to Randuins is it gives 350hp instead of Sunfire's 450, but that's pennies compared to the armor (and item effects) you gain. With a Warmogs already under your belt, what you will be needing is the extra resistances. Another option other than Randuins on Shen is Thornmail, which works, but Randuins just works better.
   2. Is a Mallet: Frozen Mallet does Frozen Mallet things, really just a nice item if you don't need more Armor, but could use the extra HP/ability to constantly slow.
   3. MR/Damage: Maw gives more MR if needed, and stacks up nicely beside an Atmas, they're great items that give AD and work better on tanky peeps.

Another good item to consider is Aegis, which is cheap, efficient, and honestly overlooked a lot. Great if you're behind and need something quick that grants a bit of everything. Even is on an Aura, so your whole team benefits. Sunfire just stopped being good when you could no longer stack them, I honestly haven't seen anybody build one in weeks. It has an 800g combine cost, which in total gives you 20hp and the passive effect. That is rubbish!
