 I fell backwards into my nice, new recliner leather armchair, and I twisted the lever on the side to allow the footrest to leap up from the front of the chair. I was tired. It had been a long day, but I had done it. My main aim this summer was to complete a football coaching course. And this afternoon, I had done it. I had just returned from Devon FA, where I had picked up my certificate. I was elated; I had done it. I had been dreaming about this for weeks. Sure, I had been managing a kids team for years, but now, I was dreaming of bigger things. I was hardly the cleverest person in the world. I finished my education at 16, after my GCSE's. Even though I passed 6 GCSE's, I couldn't be bothered to continue education. Football was a massive factor in my life. It was something I deemed more important than education. It was my lifelong dream to become a football manager. When I say 'football manager', I mean someone who is known worldwide. I want to become the best football manager.  It was July - which signalled the start of the new football league season. The fixtures would be coming out in about 12 days, and it was a day which excited me hugely. The new buzz of pre-season was picking up and it was exciting me more and more. I support Torquay United, and have had a season ticket at Plainmoor for the past two decades. Until this season. I couldn't afford one this year, but I'm still going to try and get to as many matches as possible. I would have been able to afford one, but for the price of the coaching courses I succeeded in - that was more expensive than I'd ever thought. There was only one way I wanted to make money again. Management. It had been three weeks since I passed my coaching badges. I was delighted, and I had applied for managerial jobs at any possible team. Chester City was the most high profile place I had applied for. Sure, there was a 'one in a million' chance of me getting it. I mean, a Blue Square Premier team for my first job? No chance! And, that was always going to be a tough start to management. A 25 point deduction, no money, a crap squad of players. If they offered it to me, of course, I'd be delighted! But my hopes were smashed when I saw Sky Sports News' and some of the names being mentioned with the job.
