Al Green - My Story
My life is football, never ending football. I play anywere I could go. In the garden, up the park. Anywere. I play in goal just to let you know. However, people say I am a good striker as well. My club BYFC. I am 12. I have had one season in football and this is my second. Last season was average. Mid-table and a few wins under the belt. This season I am determined then ever and hopefully after BYFC a whole new life is right infront of me ready to be filled...

Al Green - My Story
It's 2-1 to us going into the final minute. It's a 1 on 1 situation with me and the striker. I dive to get the ball, the striker goes round me about to shoot. Then my defender comes in slide tackles from behind and stops him from scoring. The only disavantage is it is a penalty to them going into the final minute. Just to let you know it has been 1 year since I have spoken to you. Just to let you know how my team is doing, we are joint top and we need to win this game to win the league. Anyway as you have just heard we gave away a penalty and it is now up to me if we win the league or not win the league. The ball is down on the penalty spot. The striker moves back. He runs a blistering speed, he shoots and...

Al Green - New Update
|
Al Green - My Story
...I save the shot. However the rebound comes back in but the ball goes over the bar. The full time whistle goes, and I jump in the air I celebration. I had won us the league. It's been about an hour now and we are just leaving the ground after my dad keeps congratulating me. In the car we are all pleased. I'm pleased, my mums pleased, my dads pleased and my sister is pleased. After talking in the car all of the way home we finally reach our destination, home. I get out of the car and I see all of my family at my front door smiling. They must of got the news that we won the league. We get inside and all night we party unti l I have to go to bed at mid-night. In the morning I wake up and get ready to go to school. I got to school, things just the same, cool with the cool and unpopular with the unpopular. Me, I am the average. I have got cool friends and unpopular friends, but that doesn't matter. Another day was going to go by. First Science, then PE which is Hockey, then Music then English and finally Maths. After school was a complete shock for me. I got a phone call. "Hello" "Are you serious" "Me" "You've got to be joking" "This Saturday" "10am" "OK, bye". I got off the phone, now, my life begins.

Al Green - My Story
I was here, the biggest stage of my life. Here at Cambridge United. You may think that it is not a big stage, but for me, I am delighted. Out of all the years that I have been watching Cambridge never would I of thought that I would be playing for them. I stood on the pitch with 14 other players not including me. He coach came out along with new manager Martin Ling. My face lit up. The coach told us what was going to happen, we were told that we were going to train and then they were going to pick the best players so they might be able to play for the Cambridge United academy. I was thrilled, but I would have to play my best as there was other players better then me there. Anyway I have to put my head down and get on with it. First we were told to run round half a pitch. So I did followed with everyone else. Somehow, I managed to come first. I hope the coaches were impressed so far. Next was shooting practice. I went in goal ready to have shots taken at me. The first shot came in but it was straight at me. The next shot was fast, curling right out of my reach into the top corner. After two hours it was time to find out if we were in the team, but before that, it was time to play a match. I went in goal, then I had a go up front. I scored 2 goals as well. They were both great goals. Anyway it was no time to decide if I was in or out. The answer is...

Al Green - My Story
No. At the moment, nothing else matters apart from football. I was very upset. I was trying my best, the fittest one there and I still get a no. Anyway's back to the car to tell the news. Apart from that dissapointment I still have training tonight. After about 2 hours I am ready to go to training. I got to training and I got asked by the manager if I wanted a go outfield. I said I would have a go. All training session we were going to play a match. I was up front. After about 5 minutes of play, the score was 1-0 to the other team. From the centre I got the ball and took everyone on before slotting it into the bottom corner, my manager looked impressed. At half time the score was 3-1 with me scoring a hat-trick. In the second half it was about the same, the game finished 5-2 with me scoring 4. My manager patted me on the back and congratulated me. He asked if I wouldn't mind playing up front in the County Cup Final. I accepted and so it would be, I would play up front for my team in the county cup final. And hopefully, scouts would be watching.

Al Green - My Story Today was the day. The biggest day of my life. The county cup final. Kick-off was at 3 so we had to be at the ground at 2. At 1:50 we got to the ground and some of my team were there already there. When my manager got there he announced the team. We would be playing a 4-1-4-1 formation with me playing as a lone striker. In shooting practice I was on fire, getting all shots on target and most of the shots going in the net. The match began and the other team were in complete control. Passing the ball so we couldn't get it. It was no suprise that they scored after 5 minutes. At half time we got a real hairdryer treatment. The team seemed to work though as we got a goal. The goal was a header inside the box. In the final minute the ball was at my feet. The ref put his whistle in his mouth. I shoot, I score. Yeeessssss. The whistle went and we had won the match. I turned around and I saw a man talking to my dad. Could it be a scout.

Al Green - My Story I walked over to my Dad and the man. My Dad said he is a scout from Tottenham. He says he is interested in signing me for Tottenham. My heart at the moment is in pure excitement. After 5 minutes the deal was done and I would be playing for Tottenham. I jumped in victory. About a month later I got a letter from Harry Rednapp. To A. Green
I am delighted to tell you that you have been accepted into the Tottenham set-up. However, there is no places left in the Academy so you will be playing for the Under 18's. Your first match will be against Crawley Under 18's.
Harry Rednapp
OK, I am happy at the moment but very nervous. How will I ever make it into the team. Anyway, time will tell. Despite this bad news it will show my talent against older people. How will I cope, I don't know.

re: Al Green - My Story

Al Green - My Story So here I am at Broadfield Stadium where I will play Crawley Under 18's. Disappointingly only 20 people turned up but I will still try my best. In the first half it was a even game but somehow we were 1-0 down at the break. Now I was determined as ever to score. On 54th minute on of Crawley's players got sent off. 10 minutes later I scored. On 77 minutes we were 2-1 down. We couldn't lose could we. With just minutes left Ryan (Fredericks) scored for us. Get in there. The final whistle went and I went off the pitch knowing I tried my best.
