The name, Ferdinand Magellan, a South American team owned by controversial former president of Ecuador, Constanto Planco. Planco is a very colourful character to say the least and his shady background will certainly not hold him in the good esteem with the relevant governing bodies. Planco's reign as President was a short one, after embezzling millions from the national treasury and acquiring several useful "connections", some of which are thought to be a major contributor to the mass export of "stuff" from the continent. Planco is now living out his life comfortably in a seaside villa, and channels most of his personal fortune into local football clubs, although the lure of European football has prompted a change of direction with the creation of Magellan.

Not much is know of Magellan's new manager Juan Sebastián Elcano, but he has close links with the clubs owner, and is sure to stamp his South American 'flair' on the side, with the help of newly announced Assistant Manager Jose Mourinho.

Ferdinand Magellan currently ply their trade in the Estadio Trinidad stadium, a purpose built 50,000 seater stadium with state of the art facilities. The club is very reliant on their super rich owner who is expected to pump money into the side, with an emphasis on improving facilities top of his list of priorities. Magellan will not have any European football to look forward to next season after earning a 10th place finish in the league, something which is sure to drive on their signature forward, Wayne Rooney, who will be craving a return to the big time!

The earthy colours of Magellan's kits are perhaps indicative of the money funding the club, as is the sponsorship, "Lucky Stripe", a new brand of cigarette who have pumped several million into securing their name on the front of the new sides kits:
