When I hit my teens I became a pretty chubby kid due to video games and laziness. This got worse and worse without me always noticing, and because people always said I had broad shoulders I always thought I just looked like a total monster. Then one day my drunken friend pointed out that the shape of my belly could be seen in my tight tshirt and I didn't have manboobs but there was a bit of flab visible. It wasn't a major problem, I wasn't a really fat 16 year old kid, but it annoyed me a bit and I lost some around 20lbs so I was about 165lbs and 5ft 10.

Then I started going clubbiing, or going to beach, and noticed the jacked up guys. They had a greater presence than the normal guys. The guys respected them and the girls were all over them - and I wanted to be one of those guys. I lifted about a month ago but quickly got bored because tbh my reasons weren't right and thought the Hollywood bodies were impossible so lost heart. Then I looked online and just saw some everyday guys with amazing bodies and I realise why look average when I can look like that? It's only been about 3 weeks but I'm already seeing gains and loving how my body's changing.

My Goal

• Long-Term
  • Have both a slender waist and a commanding upper body
  • Be able to deadlift 100kg
• Short-Term
  • Be able to bench 65kg at least 8 reps by July 1st (currently 50kg)
  • Be able to do 10 pull ups by July 1st (currently 4)

My Workout

• Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
• All exercises are free weights except bench press which uses a smith machine (which will be changed soon).
• Compound exercises w/ a few muscle specific exercises thrown in on different days.
• 3 sets with 12-10-8 reps + increasing weight.
• Finish each day with 2 sets until failure of weighted tricep dips/bicep pull ups and 2x30 of various ab workouts.

My Diet

• Aim for 3000 calories a day
  • 200g of protein a day+, 350g of carbs a day (estimate), 30g of fat a day
• Creatine monohydrate, BCAAs, Glutamine, Whey Protein. Getting fish oils soon

In a balanced body, the back and hips should be significantly stronger than the chest/shoulders/arms, so by the time you can bench press 60-70kg x 5, you should be able to deadlift 110-130kg x 5. So I wouldn't put a 100kg deadlift as a long term goal.

Apart from that well done on deciding to make a change and good luck with your progress. When you say about dips, chins and abs each day, do you mean each day you workout or every single day of the week? Because I wouldn't do that 7x/week, unless I'm just mis-interpreting you?

disgusting. Went on holidays for a month with no trainer and I've lost all gains and look so tiny in terms of muscle. *bleep* my life.

i can't get a proper shot of my legs with this webcam but they're one area I'm still okay with actually, not gonna embarrass myself by taking a picture of my back because i've got the tiniest bit of upper back muscle and my lower back's lost everything.

determined though, ate amazingly yesterday with 3,120 calories and 245g of protein and good start today with 4 scrambled eggs for breakfast!

was out tonight at a club that's full of people 25+ and several old cougars were saying how i must work out and i'm so built
