Greek club Larissa have confirmed that Mexican international Antonio de Nigris has died of a suspected heart attack.

There's been a lot of footballers going down recently to heart conditions. It's very suspicious and something that needs to be looked into.

Yea, Its becoming a more regular thing, these heart conditions, sudden deaths etc, I cant believe it isnt standard at all clubs to have checks up for heart conditions on having a medical plus standard checks once a season, these things would save lifes! and nobody can argue it would cost to much due to the money thats in football

I actually used to bum de Nigris on FM08, good player on there he was, 17 for finishing!

1st post ever
Just to say a few words... I saw a lot of games where De Nigris played, as i'm from México, he scored an absolutely beautiful goal against Brazil once... very sad news indeed. He was one of the few players who had a lot of passion for the game and also luck at scoring goals. As a matter of fact, i'm living now where he started to play (Monterrey) and a lot of people is extremely sad. His brother also plays in Monterrey (Aldo De Nigris) and i'm waiting to see what are his words. RIP Tano (that used to be Antonio's nickname) | |
