re: English 10 tier problem

When you choose the database there should be a small tick box in the bottom right.

re: English 10 tier problem

It doesn't go in the db folder...it goes in the "editor data" folder.

That I don't know how to do, unfortunately. But a lot of people have that problem so there must be an answer somewhere.

re: English 10 tier problem

Have you got Steam?
I've been having the same problem for a week now, can't get any DB's to come up, even ones I make myself.
I also don't get the option to choose what DB when I start a game.

re: English 10 tier problem

What is the setup of everyone who is having that problem?

Whats your OS?

How did you install?

What are you preferences?

It has to be something that you all have in common.

re: English 10 tier problem

Mine is Windows Vista.
Installed by downloading off Steam.
Preferences? How do you mean?
I've tried putting the same Database .xml file in all types of folders, in editor data, db, steam/steam apps/common/db etc etc, with no luck.

You are right constantplanck, there is probably a simple solution that makes it a common error at the moment for so many of us.
I've tried searching other forums, but to no avail yet.

Will update if I find anything.

re: English 10 tier problem

I just tried to make my game load that way and by taking the editor data folder out of Documents/SI/Football Manager 2010 I got it to load without asking me what database I wanted to use. Then, when I put the editor data folder back in it worked normally again.

My best advice is making tripley certain that the file is in User/Documents/SI/Football Manager 2010/editor data and if it is then remove your .xml files, delete that folder, load a new game so that the game creates a new editor data folder, put the .xml files back into the new editor data folder, then reload your game and try starting a new game.

You may have a bad config file, especially if you tried to save something over it.

re: English 10 tier problem

Done that. But the game doesn't make a new Editor Data folder when I make a new game. Any ideas??

EDIT - Had to load editor, now its made a new folder. Just gonna make a new DB and save it and then see if I get the start a new game DB option
