	Dude definite improvement overall. I always find it so satisfying to look back at the previous code and look of the site that you have been putting in major work on. From looking at it earlier today your source code looks extremely good as well. I swear though, I am definitely NOT an artistic person so it definitely helps to have a dedicated employed graphic artist/creative director working at questional. I always tell her, if I disagree with you on something visually, just suggest it one more time and i'll cave as I trust her graphical eye over mind ANY DAY of the week And she seriously has given me wayyy more insight into things I took for granted. 	How do you guys as PHP developers typically manage the edit/update workflow in your web sites? What I mean is, if a user is editing an item, what fields do you update when the he clicks Submit? All of them? Only the ones that were changed? If the latter, how do you track which fields were changed? Also, how do you handle the situation where two people are updating the same item at the same time? Just something that has piqued my interest in the .NET world, and I'm wondering what the PHP side of things has to offer. ------------------- Latest NAMFox (Sept 2 2011)

	I've never come across a situation where it is worth only updating the necessary fields. Would this actually be worthwhile? Would the computation needed to figure this out be better than a simple database query? I have encountered the database concurrency problem though, and opted for the 'lock table' function MySQL has. This works but locks the table on each query, when in reality it's usually quite rare transactions are carried out at the exact same time. I believe PHP has a flock() function which can lock files using semaphores, this seems quite complex and apparently has its own problems. I'd definitely be interested if someone had a fool proof efficient method.

I don't like locking an entire table for a single-row update. I'm not sure if/how MySQL does row-level locking but that seems like a more viable approach. ------------------- Latest NAMFox (Sept 2 2011)

	Yeh, you're probably right come to think of it. Locking a table is quite extreme especially with a high load, which realistically is when you'd want to do it. I guess finding a way of only locking the rows which could be affected by the update would be much better.

	I also forgot to say that you have to make sure you want to run one update after another—for example, if two travel agents allocate the same airplane seat for different customers at the same time, the second one should fail.
