re: Moderators' Corner + Vital Forum Info

Hmm, I hadn't considered that before, but I think it's a good idea. What do you think are some of the common subject areas? I would guess PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript for a start...any others?

Also, I'm not sure about full-fledged tutorials; I think that based on DEVPEN's performance that can't really be relied on, but I like the idea of FAQs.

I can be convinced to put ASP up there, but does anyone here even use ColdFusion?

I'm going to take the lack of uproar about ColdFusion as a sign that no one uses it. Feel free to chastise me if you do use it.

That being said, does anyone here use ASP and would be willing to contribute ASP FAQs?

What about the people that were planning on learning ColdFusion later ?

Well, we can always have sections for every language and then fill it in as we go. I suppose we really don't have to limit ourselves at this point.

I'll be happy to make the PHP & MySQL tutorials, which would obviously go hand in hand. I may not be a PHP oldie, but I feel that I've got enough experience to be able to write a pretty good one, especially with the amount of experience my project has given me.

I know of no one who has ever used Cold Fusion. I looked at it once about 3 years ago, and then decided I'd stick to PHP!

I personally would like to see a Ruby on Rails faq/tutorial!

I tried to use ColdFusion, but the local server on my computer ran way to slow.

MySpace (God I'm gonna hate myself for mentioning that thing) uses ColdFusion for its pages if that's any help.

Honestly, thats the basic reason that I wanted to start out trying to learn ColdFusion.

Facebook uses good ol' PHP, ftw.

Sorry guys, I wanted to set up something today, but I got overrun with a NAMFox bug. Fortunately that's fixed, so I will look at setting something up tomorrow (long work day) or Wednesday.
