Can you tell me if this is illegal if I haven't asked the artist? Also my friend said that you are allowed 30 second clips of songs but no longer? Could you please clarify for me? Thanks, Steel

	to be honest, i dont know. But i cant tell you something. Lots of people have music on their website and i dont think it is illegal if you have actually bought the music yourself. If you downloaded it i would think it is illegal.

	Copyright law states that you are allowed to use snippets of other peoples' works as long as you cite the sources, but I'm over 50% sure that is exclusively for text-related works.... If you just play no more than 10 or 15 seconds of a song, it is highly unlikely that you will be sued.... -------------------

	as long as you're not making a profit off your site, you're ok in the eyes of the law. That's what copyrights are for, to ensure that you, and people you give express permission to, will gain profit from it. If you still want to research the legality, I'd suggest doing a Google for Copyright laws and music, or something like that. -------------------
