Remember 'Master Miller' from the first Metal Gear Solid game? He was one of my favorite Codec contacts, and one of the most helpful characters in the game... until the twist at the end, anyway. That was a kick to the gut.

Well, it looks like the real Master Miller might be appearing in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

I don't believe it ever was brought up. Oh well, the more stuff you leave out of previous games, the more stuff you get to make up in later games.

Now, in Peace Walker his name is what... Kazu Miller? Does that mean he's Asian, or from Asia? Does he adopt McDonell as a name later?

the official site says his name is Kazuhira, meaning 'Peace' in Japanese.

So? Lot's of games have characters with Japanese names, but different more Westernised names for worldwide release. Think about it. An American soldier from America, in the American game called Kazuhira? I'm sure half as many yanks can't even pronounce that properly. And you know how they just love basking in their patriotism. Besides, we all know him as McDonald Miller. Nuff said.

You know, it might well be that Kazuhira is McDonell's father or something. I could be wrong, but hey it's a theory.

The Wiki says that 'McDonnell' Miller

However, the Peace Walker Official Site says that 'Kazuhira' Miller was born in US-occupied Japan. The PW site mentions nothing about Kazu being in the SAS or the Green Berets, and the Wiki says nothing of McDonnell being in the Japan Self Defense Force. So, either they're two different people or Miller's the latest person whose history is to be retconned.
