Platinum Games' Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be supported post-release with downloadable content, which will include new characters and missions.
Kojima Productions producer Yuji Korekado confirmed the DLC plans for the hack-and-slash title upon being asked about a possible online multiplayer component. While he ruled out the possibility of the former, he did divulge information regarding the game's post-release support:
"We don’t have any plans for competitive online play or anything like that. However we do have plans for some download content after the release from the game that will allow you to play maybe as a different character or some new missions."
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which is being overseen by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, is due for a release on consoles during 2013.
