But funny date, April 30th, MGS2 has a date with that, mostly Rose bugging Raiden with it on the first time they met, but also the date of the Manhatten incident with Arsenal Gear.

Coincidence that they choose this date?

So is the game meant to be out today or am I missing the point?

I don't think so.

If it was, it would be more obviouse then this.

For one thing it's not suddenly bursting with activity here close to release, it's kinda dead here.

But then again, this Metal Gear game is not unlike the others so it might not be the same in interest.

If it should be released today, then they sure didn't made enough advertisment in when it's going to be released and all that to spark interest.

One thing that is irritating me with Rising is the flitting between a totally new direction and appeal to a new audience, or the catering to older fans of the series.

The oldest footage of Rising really felt like Raiden's own hack 'n' slash perspective of MGS4's events (especially in it's dark, gritty urban feel, not to mention presence of PMC troops).

After the re-reveal of Reveangeance it seemed the game had found it's own identity in catering to a different audience with it's crazy action and bright colours.

Now, with these viral videos and flashback stories it feels like they are reverting to old-school appeal, what with some people saying the dude talking to Jack is Solidus. Surely people interested in Rising that are yet to get into the MGS series would be mind-boggled by all this crazy footage and coded messages? I wish they'd stick to one vision of how they want to the game to be portrayed, although it's understandable that they want to reassure the older fans

Either way i'll remain open minded about Rising. Sometimes feel like i'm the only person not bashing the game! Obviously I'd prefer the story to closely tie into Raiden's past (I think an interquel explaining how Raiden became a cyborg in the lead up to MGS4 would be great!) instead of randomly throwing in a junk storyline of Raiden becoming a cyborg again.

Kojima has been doing these Teasers for years. I bet it's all about the nanomachines.

Loving the release date speculation. I love April 30th; I always remember that day of days in the MGS series! XD
