Crysis 2 Tweaking

If you're keen to improve your experience with Crysis 2 on PC, the fan-made config tool below will help. Alternately, you can utilize many of its functions by implementing command variables (or 'cvars') manually.

Crysis 2 Config Program

This is a fan-made tool which gives you access to multiple game and graphics options including motion blur, shadows, FSAA, field of view, and lots more. It's been tested by multiple users with no issue and is highly recommended.



Download the tool here and follow r_jayw on Twitter for updates. As below, it's recommended to turn mouse acceleration off and sensitivity to roughly 40. Check your mouse sensitivity in-game as well because it may be turned up beyond that (you'll only have to do this once, if it occurs).

Another, similar tool which does work with the full game and offers more options. It hasn't been personally tested (yet), and has been said to cause an issue or two, so use at your own risk.

Cvars

To apply them, right click Crysis2.exe and make a shortcut from it. Right click the shortcut, select properties, and add the variable(s) to the 'Target' line, with one space after the text already present. After this you may pin the shortcut to your start menu and rename it, or your taskbar. If you have the Steam version of the game, these can be set by right clicking the game in your library and clicking 'set launch options'. You may need to input them via the in-game console (activate with ~ key).

+cl_fov=90 - This changes field of view, or how much can be seen on screen at any one time -- default FOV is low for PC standards. 70-100 is recommended for high resolution monitors.
+pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 90 - Changes the FOV when sprinting.
+r_MotionBlur=0 - Turns off motion blur; can greatly improve performance.
+g_skipIntro=1 - Skip the intro movies.
+r_glow 0 - Disables heavy glow effect present especially on the Hardcore setting.
+i_mouse_smooth 0 - Removes laggy mouse controls. Bring your mouse sensitivity up after doing this to roughly 40.
+r_drawnearfov 90 - In Crysis, this adjusted the FOV on the gun and body, but may not work in Crysis 2.
+i_mouse_accel 0 - Remove mouse acceleration for consistent mouse movement.

Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2 Demo\bin32\Crysis2.exe" +cl_fov 75 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov 75 +r_MotionBlur 0 +g_skipIntro 1 +i_mouse_smooth 0 +r_drawnearfov 75

As it says in the PC trailer, you can't go beyond a certain limit with BC2's FOV, so as far as DICE is concerned, it's not cheating.

I wish there was a way to disable the nanosuit's sound notifications. I've grown weary of that "Nanovision Enabled" and the rest.

Crysis 2 Demo Configurator Version 5

I return from holiday and bring with me the Config program i made and have updated it for the full game!

This program is to be used with the Crysis 2 it allows you to configure settings that are not in the in game menus.

I have been writing this program and releasing versions throughout the demo.

Versions 1 – 4 (demo versions) have in total now had around 20,000 downloads!!!!

This is my first release for the full game, 5-6 people have tested it and confirmed its working fine, if bugs or problems are found please let me know asap!

i cant stand the frikkin announcer! please someone make an option to shut it up!
