Some help with my team and butterfree

Out of all those Pokemon, I have four of them on my team: Typhlosion, Ampharos, Togekiss and Lapras, I found them to be quite good. If you'd like to use Butterfree, feel free to use it, though I don't have any advice on it. Then for your sixth, I would either use Gengar or Umbreon.
This is just my opinion, so yeah.

You don't need to teach lapras all the water HMs. I don't think you need whirlpool to reach the E4 for example and it is only used very little elsewhere so you could limit that move to a separate HM slave.

Even if you did teach all three HMs though, that still leaves you one slot for ice beam, which lapras learns naturally and is Lance's biggest threat. Slap a choice scarf on to try and outpace those dragons. Unfortunately, Lapras does level slower than many other Pokemon.

Vaporeon might be an alternative. Doesn't learn ice beam naturally so you're either stuck with aurora beam or blizzard (unless you want to waste ages at the Game Corner trying to earn ice beam) but it does level faster than Lapras and has more impressive special attack that offsets its lack of ice typing.

I'm afraid there's not a lot you can do to improve Butterfree. Feel free to spam sleep powder, which is made almost as good as spore thanks to Butterfree's ability and can hand you lots of free turns providing your pokemon is fast, but this thing has poor stats and terrible typing even for ingame use.

If your gonna use a water type can i recommend Kingdra, Starmie or Red Gyarados because they quite simply have awesome movepools, stats and just generally look more badass than Vaporeon.

My team ended up being Heracross, Typhoid, Xatu, Kingdra, Magneton and The beast that is Mammoswine. I think you've pretty much got it though pal you should be fine.

Heracross is pretty awesome i gotta say he's got VERY high attack and gets pretty awesome moves i absolutely love it but it's main flaw is it's 4 Times weakness to flying types but i don't mind that. I should warn you though Starmie and Kingdra are a pain to get because they both require rare items to evolve and Kingdra needs to be traded with the dragon scale (Mind you if you use the GTS trick you can evolve it pretty easily.)

Good luck man. I only just restarted my game by catching every single pokemon on the Pokewalker and getting Mew this morning and i haven't even faced my rival yet
