Migrating pokemon from Ruby to Soul Silver

Hello!

I'm trying to migrate my pomemon from Ruby GBA pak to Soul Silver.

In soul silver I've beaten the elite 4, got the national dex, and gone into the pal park.

I've followed the intructions for stocking pokemon, but when I put my Ruby game into the GBA slot and switch on the DS, soul silver loads but the option to migrate from ruby does not appear!! All I have is my current game, mew game, wifi settings and the ususal stuff like that. How can I migrate? I have got all legit games also.

Am I doing something wrong??

Put your gameboy advance cartridge in.
Make sure the 6 pokemon you want to migrate from your GBA Cartridge are IN YOUR BOX (thats important... they cant be in your party)
Then When you start up Soul silver/Heart gold
Where it says Continue, and new game, and options... the beginning menu screen w.e the hell you call it
There should be an option to migrate you pokemon
Choose 6
Get to fuschia or lavendar.... (correct me on this please....)
The place where the poison gym leader is in kanto
Then go to the... Pal park at the top
Then the guy at the counter will explain the rest

When you say "make sure the DS can detect the GBA game" what do you mean?

I can put the Ruby cart in and the Soul Silver, when I boot up the DS it has the option to Play either "Pokemon Soul Silver" a the top or "Start GBA Game" at the bottom. Should it somehow know and say something like "Pokemon Ruby" at the bottom??

Ah that it what it means for the DS to detect the GBA game.

If this is the case, most probably you can only transfer your pokemon from your Ruby to SS after you reach Fuchsia City in Kanto and go to Pal Park, in which you have done so.

As stated by pokefreak, you also must have at least 6 pokemon in your PC Box in Ruby before you can do any PalPark, and none of them having HM moves.

You cannot migrate Pokemon from fake GBA carts. Check yours, it might be.
