I never would have guessed. If I would have only looked at your avatar and name, I would have been totally confused as to which pokemon was your favorite/which water type you thought was the best. I'm really glad you told us in your post or I never would have known.

Vaporeon, Gyrados, Empoleon, Lanturn, Slowking, or Kingdra. From experience, I can say Gyrados, Empoleon and Vaporeon are very good. (:

I'm not incredibly obsessed with Pokemon, so I don't compare stats or anything, but my Dewgong does great for me. It's my second best Pokemon, after Dragonite. It can learn strong water moves and strong ice moves. Once it learns Aurora Beam and Ice Beam kill Grass, Dragon, and Flying Types, and Water kills Ground, Fire, and Rock types. I like those odds.

Gyarados will always be a top option. From experience, Starmie has a GREAT mover pool and is apretty good all around pokemon. Kingdra is also very good in those aspects. Lapras is a mix of tank and Special Attacker. To get a better Laras type pokemon, use a Milotic. I'm using a Milotic and it is a very good tank/staller with Toxic and recover. And it has surf and Ice beam for pretty good damage. Lanturn also has good type coverage and defence coverage.

For attack go with Gyrados, Special attack go with Starmie or Kingdra, Defences go with Milotic or Lapras.

Awesome Special sweeper, with brilliant STAB moves (Ice Beam, Surf) and an above average defense so it has decent staying power too.

Lapras is pretty good, but I think Gyarados is good too, because it learns Ice Fang as well as Dragon Moves and you can teach it Surf and Strength.
