help with hoenn starters

I was also confused by this, then i just walked around talking to everyone (EVERY-ONE, in saffron city, theres not much people in Saffron)
and i found Copy cat, a girl on the top floor of the pink house in saffron, she says that she lost her doll in vermillion city
so fly to vermillion (or walk, whatev's) and go to the pokemon fanclub in south western vermillion (it has 3 circles on the door) and talk to the chubby guy next to the clefairy doll inside. he'll say sorry and give you the doll, as you exit Steven Stone will talk to you and tell you that latios is now roaming kanto. Then you can go back to silph co. and talk to him, he ask which stone you would like (the green , the red, or the blue) Each stone represents a different type, green for grass blue for water and red for fire, and depending on what type you pick, you get a different starter (green stone= treeco, red stone = torchic, blue = mudkip)

Go with the pokemon that you think is the most popular out of the 3
in my choice, i would go for mudkip.
Then trade it in the GTS.
I'm pretty sure you could get something better/equal to it in power/rarity

Don't get torchic cause there is a poke walker route that u can get it on

there are none that I know of. you could ask people on here to trade you those starters if you want them. people do have lots of them

Why are the Hoenn starters so rare? You can actually transfer all of them from R/S/E. Lots of times. Just catch 7 Pokemon in one of those games and transfer them via Pal Park.
