Why was just one Battle and one Trading forums made for both HG/SS instead of one of each for both forums?

No. Why should kids who get the game and just want to ask one or two question be forced to sign up to do so? It takes time, an email and, in some cases, a parent's permission to join. Most kids don't have an email, so they'd have to ask their parents for access to an email account when it's easier on them to just post their question as a guest.

I agree with this. No doubt about it, but at the same time, it's a flawed plan. I think favorites threads should just be moved to General Pokémon where they truly belong, or closed/deleted.

Quierta tried creating a general favorites thread in the Diamond forum, but it got overlooked. New threads were created about favorites all the time, even though people kept getting directed to that thread.

Whenever I see a repeated favorites thread, I flag it for moderation, and the (section) mods can take care of it.

Make a favorites thread, then try and get a mod to sticky it to the top of the forum.
