wi-fi help with winner`s path

Are you picking the correct option?

If you haven't connected to Nintendo via WiFi before, you need to follow a two step process:

1. First set up your connection to the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection"
2. Then download the "Winners Path" as a mystery gift.

To do the initial set-up, follow the instructions in the WiFi booklet that came with your game cartridge. There is also lots of good info here:

The Yellow Forest goaded me to try out WiFi for the first time. However, I had problems and had to go to on-line support for help. I had to disable WiFi encryption completely (even WEP) and manually enter in the connection settings (which required going into my router to get SSID, IP address, sub-net mask, gateway, primary DNS, secondary DNS) to get it to work. PITA

It was a real hassle, but once I went thru the pain and had it set up for Yellow Forest, then Winner's Path was subsequently a breeze. I just had to disable the encryption on the router again, connect and down-load, then re-enable the encyption.

If this sounds all too hard, then you may want to opt for using open WiFi at a cafe or library somewhere, cause it's a lot easier.
