Safari zone item leveling

Say I want a Flygon, to get Vibrava or Trapinch I have to have 25 forest objects or rock objects respectively. Vibrava takes 20 days, could I change the date on my DS calendar to be 20 days in the future to get one faster?

I've been trying to understand how this block levelling works. I've been playing for months since I unlocked the full Safari Zone with the objects, but Warden Baboa has only phoned me once to say my blocks have upgraded. So I have a number of questions I've been trying to get answers to. I've looked all over the net, but everyone seems to understand these crazy blocks differently.

1) Is there any way to know at a glance if blocks have been uprgaded, like on the Zone-Moving Machine, maybe? It does show the number of blocks in each zone at the top of the screen.
2) Do you have to get the upgrades in order? (for example do the Forest blocks (20 days) have to upgrade before the peak blocks will upgrade?
3) If you stay in the safari zone for X days, will the active blocks upgrade, or do you have to go in and out of the SZ each day?
4) How many of each kind of block do you need to have in the SZ for the upgrades to work? Can you only have one block out, or do you need more?
