Veronica or Boone? - Page 3

I didn't like either of them tbh, but if I had to choose it would've been Boone mostly because I found melee companions enjoyed getting in the way of friendly fire. At least with Boone you got spotters perk and his ranged weapons.

I prefer Veronica because she is good at using energy weapons, and I'm absolutely not. So I can give her any spare ammunition for Ewps that I'm never going to use. And she can help craft the more damaging types as well. She is also the more flexible companion, because Boone's not much help in a close up fight - the very kind of situation where you're more likely to take damage and get killed. Whereas in melee Veronica can wear power armour, and deal out pretty good damage with her ballistic fist

Using Rex as a tank isn't a great idea, as he's great at racing off and getting himself killed, and its harder to keep a companion alive than yourself. True his knockdown effect on enemies (even Deathclaws!) can be great, but Eddy is more likely to keep zapping the enemy from all ranges, sometimes from places they can't get to him. So having Veronica in the front line works well, providing you yourself have a good long range ability to snipe (Eddy helps here almost as much as Boone, due to his enhanced perception perk).

Even from range, Veronica can blast away with plasma weapons, which is going to hurt the enemy eventually. Not as deadly as Boone from there, granted, but makes up for it in so many other ways! A lot cuter and more witty too!
