I need them too! I can't figure out basics...when on defense pitching we see the aerial view and would like the catcher view. In options all I see is "Custom camera" but it doesnt' appear changeable.
Thanks if you have all instructions please email.

The 3DO Company High Heat(TM) Major League Baseball(R) 2003 v1.0 February 2002
This document contains information relevant to the High Heat Major League Baseball 2003 beyond the manual.
FILE CONTENTS: 1) Player Details 2) Defensive Familiarity 3) Save and Quit 4) The Player Editor 5) Season Play 5a) Career Mode vs. Single Season 5b) Team Selection 5c) Drafting 5d) Team Schedule 5e) Team Roster Screen 5f) Injuries 5g) Fatigue 5h) Free Agents 5i) Trades 5j) League Leaders 5k) Post Season 5l) Rookie Draft 5m) Retiring Players 6) Playoffs 7) The Runner Radar
1. Player Details
On most screens in the High Heat game where players are listed, you can double-click on a player's name to bring up Player Details. This screen not only shows the player's vital batting, pitching and fielding ratings, but it also displays his statistics, year by year, over his entire career! You can even view his splits!
There is a Scouting Report button you can press on the batting screen to see what the High Heat scouts think about the player, too!
2. Defensive Familiarity
Familiarity refers to a player's proficiency at a fielding position. You can check Player Details and go to the Fielding tab to see a player's familiarity ratings.
Familiarity ranks on a scale from 0 to 1, where zero means the player lacks any experience at the position, and one represents mastery of the position. Some players will have a familiarity rating between one and zero, meaning that the player has some limited experience at the position.
In the High Heat game, you can play a fielder at any position. If the player lacks familiarity in a position, he will make more errors than usual. If a player continually stays in a position, he may gain familiarity over time.
3. Save and Quit
In the High Heat game you can Save a game mid-way through the action and resume playing at a later time. To use this feature, activate the Pause Menu by pressing [Esc] during a game. Move the menu highlight to the Save and Quit option and press the [Enter] key. You will then be returned to the Main Menu.
When you select Exhibition, Load Season or Load Playoff from the Main Menu a save game dialog will prompt you. At that point you can:
CANCEL: Cancel loading of the saved game and return to the Main Menu. SKIP AND DELETE: Cancel loading of the saved game and delete the save file. In Season and Playoff mode, you can continue normally. CONTINUE: Press this button to load the saved game in progress.
4. The Player Editor
The Player Editor is a powerful tool that you can use to modify existing player stats and ratings as you like.
When in Season Mode, you can use the Player Editor to modify the players in the current season. You can also access the Player Editor from Utilities on the Main Menu Bar. From there you can load a set of rosters for editing. Valid roster files must have the file extension .SEA to be used in the Player Editor.
Notes about editing player statistics:
Age - In the High Heat game, age directly affects the statistics of the players. For instance, if you give a 40 year old pitcher a throwing arm rating of 9, it'll be more like an 8.7 in the game due to aging effects. Keep in mind that your players retire once they've reached the age of 45.
Arm Strength - Multiply the arm strength rating by 10 to get an approximation of the speed (in MPH) of the player's average fastball. For example a player with a rating of 8.6 will throw 86 mph fastballs on average, before aging effects.
Hits, Doubles, Triples and Home Runs - The numbers you enter in these areas reflect a "spray" chart for the type of contact the batter makes. In other words, a player may hit a lot a home runs but not be an especially powerful hitter. Power is judged by Slugging Percentage.
Slugging Percentage (SLG) - Directly related to the power of the batter. If you want a guy to not only hit home runs, but hit them 580 ft., give him an extra-high slugging percentage.
NOTE: Changing a player's statistics to highly exaggerated values could cause the High Heat game to become unstable. Experiment at your own risk.
5. Season Play
5a. Career Mode vs. Single Season
In the High Heat game, using the career mode feature, you can simulate professional baseball seasons more than 60,000 years into the future! But you also have the option to play a single baseball season, too. Why the difference? Which mode you chose will determine how the computer GMs run their teams. In single-season mode, every team will make the appropriate trades and personnel moves to "win it all now". In career mode, if the computer manager feels its team has a legitimate shot at a championship, it will take the steps to insure it puts a winner on the field by trading away prospects to fill weaknesses in the lineup or rotation with proven players. Otherwise, it will go into "building" mode and try to garner hot prospects in hopes of creating a dynasty for the future.
5b. Team Selection
When selecting human-controlled teams before starting a new season, you can choose as many teams as you like, or choose none at all. If you go with the latter option, season play will work normally and the computer GM will take care of all the day to day business for each team. In all season menus, human controlled teams will always be marked with an asterisk (*).
5c. Drafting
If you have chosen to participate in a Draft before beginning the season, all players on each team's roster are placed into a pool for you and the other teams to choose from. Draft a team of proven veterans to win it all now, or build a future dynasty by selecting talented youngsters, it's up to you. It is entirely possible to conduct a draft without setting any team to human control. You can always take control of a team later, when the draft is over.
The order in which the teams draft in the first round is always determined randomly. After that the order depends on which order you chose from the Season Options.
Drafting continues for 25 rounds. You can watch the computer teams make their picks, but to speed things up, left-click on the check mark in the Delay box. This will speed things up.
When the draft is over, the Continue button will highlight, and you can click on it to start the season. The computer will set all the lineups and pitching rotations for every team.
Important - the computer is not afraid to experiment! Sometimes it will be so bold as to move a player from his main position to a different position in the field. If this occurs, it will permanently change the affected player's main position to that of the new assignment. Players will still retain their familiarities at each position, but will show only their main position in most game screens.
5d. Team Schedules
Season games may be simulated or played (human-controlled teams only). You may simulate games in blocks or use the Quick Sim to Playoffs button to have your computer simulate all regular-season games.
To help you closely manage your teams while you quick sim, there are interrupts that you can set that will automatically stop the quick-sim under the following conditions (for human-controlled teams): Not First - Gives you the option to stop the SIM if your team drops out of first place in its division. 5 Games Back - Gives you the option to stop the SIM if your team falls 5 games behind the division leader. 10 Games Back - Gives you the option to stop the SIM if your team falls 10 games behind the division leader. Trades Offered - Stops the SIM if another team offers you a trade. Player Injured - Gives you the option to stop the SIM in the event of an injury to one of your players. Player Healed - Gives you the option to stop the SIM in the event that one of your players has recovered from an injury.
In the event of a trade, injury or player returning from the disabled list, most likely there will need to be changes made in your roster. The interrupts are there so you can make those changes. Otherwise, the computer will make the changes for you.
While the Quick Sim is running, you can view other team schedules or watch the the teams jog for position in the League Standings. Neither one will stop the SIM.
6e. Team Roster Screen
The Team Roster Screen allows you to move the different players on your team between the different levels of development, Rookie to Majors. Players can be swapped between rosters using drag n' drop. If there is room on a roster then there will be an "empty" space at the bottom of the player list. You can drag players into the empty space to avoid swapping.
The major league roster must have 25 players on it at all times. You cannot continue playing or simming games until it is filled.
Players can be promoted from Rookie level at any time during the season, but no player can be demoted to Rookie level. Once a player is moved up, he's there to stay, unless you cut him.
If you have the Auto-Manage Minor League option on, the computer will handle the minor league rosters, but you will still have to control who remains on the major league roster. If you are NOT using this option, you will have to set up the minor league rosters and pitching rotations yourself, as these will not be set by the computer.
You can cut any player from your team at any time during the season. He will then go to the Free Agent list.
Minor league stats are updated about every 15 days into a season.
5f. Injuries
Injuries are optional in the High Heat game, and never occur in Exhibition games. Injuries can be minor (a day or two) or career threatening (over a year!). Minor injuries are fairly common, and you can expect most players in the league to miss a day or two of work during the season.
Injured players are automatically placed on the Disabled List. You can view a team's DL from the Roster Screen. When a player is completely healed, you can return him to the roster.
Injuries throughout the league can be viewed in News as well.
Players in the minor leagues do not sustain injuries.
5g. Fatigue
During season play, all players experience fatigue. Fatigued players' names are displayed in blue on all team screens. In game menus, a red bar will work its way from left to right over player names to show how much fatigue has accumulated.
A starting pitcher will usually require at least four days rest after a typical outing before healing completely from fatigue. A position player will only require 1 or 2 days of rest.
Fatigued players don't perform as well as they should, and have greater risk of sustaining an injury. Catchers tend to fatigue quicker than players in other positions.
5h. Free Agents
The Free Agent Screen provides a list of players that have been cut from all the teams. There can be any number of free agents on the list at any one time. In order to sign a free agent, you must clear space on one of your rosters.
5i. Trades
In multi-player trades, any excess players you receive will be placed on your Inactive List. For instance, if you trade 1 player for 3, the two extra players will go to the Inactive List while the other one takes a place on your roster.
Players on the Inactive List remain out of play until you've moved them onto your roster. You can access your Inactive List from the Roster Screen and transition them onto you team where there's room.
The Trade Deadline in the High Heat game goes into effect two-thirds into the season. Then you cannot make a trade until the beginning of the next season.
5j. League Leaders
The League Leaders Screen is controlled with many different "filters" that allow you to display a myriad of statistics. The following data filters are available:
TEAM - You can display the players on a specific team, individual team data or all players in the league. POSITION - You can filter players of any position. SPLITS - Sort data versus lefties, versus righties or versus both. YEAR - Statistics can be sorted by current year, playoffs, or career. You can also type a year into the space and left-click on the GO button to bring up stats for any year available. STATISTICS - Sort by batting, pitching or fielding stats. ROSTER - Sort players from the majors, AAA, AA, and Rookie levels. You can also display career stats for Retired players.
If no players have retired from your current career game, you will see no data when you use that filter. But don't worry! You won't have to play long to get retirees!
When sorting stats like ERA, AVG, OBP, etc... you may want to filter out players who appeared only sporadically during the season. Check the QUALIFY box and the game will do this automatically.
The current displayed stats can be saved to a file if you left-click on the SAVE TO FILE button. This file can be opened with most spreadsheet programs (like Microsoft Excel(TM)) or a text editor.
5k. Post Season
When the regular season ends the post season begins. Afterwards you can still access most areas of season play. If your minor leagues are not on automatic control, you should move any valuable prospects from Rookie to a higher level of play, since anyone left on the Rookie roster will be cut once you start the next season. A button on the Season Menu allows you to End Season. Left-click this button and all Rookie level players are cut from each team.
After you end the season, a Start Season button appears on the Season Menu. When you left-click this button the following occurs: 1) 25 new rookie players are placed on your Rookie roster OR Rookie Draft. 2) Players retire. 3) Players age one year. 4) Players are inducted to your Hall of Fame. 5) A new schedule is created.
You can now continue your High Heat career.
5l. Rookie Draft
The Rookie Draft occurs after each season in career play. The option is yours: if you choose to forgo the Rookie Draft, then 25 new players will automatically be assigned to your rookie roster.
The Rookie Draft operates the same as the fantasy draft described in the High Heat game manual. The main difference is that the rookies have no statistics for you to see, and you will have to make your draft decisions based on scouting reports alone.
5m. Retiring Players
In the High Heat game players will retire for several reasons: age, lack of playing time, very severe injuries, poor performance and too much time on the free agent list.
As players reach the late 30's, the chance they'll retire increases.
6. Playoffs
When quick-simming game during a playoff, you can interrupt the sim at any time by pressing the [Esc] key.
Custom rosters may not be loaded from Playoff Options in stand-alone Playoff mode (i.e. Playoffs loaded from the Main Menu).
7. The Runner Radar
During gameplay, the runner radar in the top right screen corner will highlight the team name that is currently at bat in yellow.
