Survival horror and Let's Players

Probably one of the most popular forms of Let's Plays out there, survival horror Let's Plays were popularized by that god awful Pewdiepie and for the life of me I can't figure out why he's popular.



stupid voices, stupid faces and unfunny commentary and jokes, and the most hyperbolic reactions to shit ever. Which really sums up what most sh lps have to offer.

There are a few I like, though. ChaoticMonki, also known as Cry has done some really quality stuff (and he did WhiteDay )

So what are your opinions on these types of LPs? Anybody you particularly like?

My all-time favourite Let's Play is the Silent Hill 4 LP by Quadraxis14 (in which his brother was a guest commentator the entire time). He's also done Dead Space with one of his close friends, Silent Hill Origins with his girlfriend, and some other horror-related stuff.

In my opinion, horror Let's Plays ruin the entire idea of horror games, though. You have some tool flapping his jaw, ruining all semblance of atmosphere and trying to demean the game itself in a makeshift way to stop himself from being scared. On the flipside, you also have people like PewDiePie who get fake-scared and scream like twats and they just give me headaches.

Trying to find videos for the horror game threads that aren't Let's Plays has actually proven pretty difficult for the most part. That's another fault with LPs. Sometimes people just want a simple walkthrough without having to hear some fella talking constantly.

Some of Vash's LPs are pretty good. I especially love the co-op LPs he did with Yoshi.

Pyschadelicsnake also does some good LPs since he's pretty damn good at games in general. He's one of the best RE players I've seen. He does have a high-pitched scream though and he screams a lot when he plays horror games so that may be a turn-off for some people.
